Treliving confirmed that the pick going to Ottawa is the Flames' own. They still hold Carolina's.

It's not about replacing Frolik.

It's about just being able to hang from a defensive perspective with Backlund and Tkachuk (he can) to allow Frolik to give us better balance on that third line.

Flames forward groups have been too heavily loaded up in the top 6 all season because they couldn't trust Brouwer or Hathaway on the 3M line.

Shore can handle that responsibility with tough match ups and hard zone starts. He did it in L.A at times.

Agree to disagree Frolik with out a doubt stays on the 3m line

Oh I doubt it happens too.

Gulutzan seems really hesitant to break up that line outside of injury.

I just think this guy has a bit of Glencross in him and can more offense than he has shown in previous stops.

We do have a lot of bottom 6 RH shots now though.

Brouwer, Lazar, Hathaway, Stewart, Shore, Versteeg

Only 2-3 of them can play - so going to be lots of competition for that ice time.

Not a bad deal actually. Could shore up the 4th line Stewart's not a bad move either. But just thinking back to what Daryl was asked about the Flames and how they needed to improve their right side - if the goal was to contend for the Cup. Basically, these moves indicate that Treliving doesn't really believe they're there yet. He's probably right. Glad we didn't part with our 2019 1st for Kane or Hartman.

Treliving says Shore has more offense than he has shown. Maybe playing too safe because he is afraid of not sticking in the NHL.

He's been a healthy scratch this season already.

He's been playing too well lately.

He'll have to revert back to his Oct-Dec form to go back there.

Who's to say he wasn't trying to acquire better players but just didn't like the prices?

I’ll never understand the Stajan love affair. He’s our worst player.

Fans hate him. The players on the team love him. That's all that matters.

I think his point was that you said Stajan never sits, and he's sat several games this year.
