That would be like cheering for Norway over Canada in the Olympics, just because. So weak

Unless they can start putting together better efforts in their own barn, you're probably right. Can't make the playoffs if you can't win at home.

Flames are very lucky to be only down 1 after that period. Why is this team such trash in front of the fans that empty their wallets to support them?

They are lucky to be down by only 1 and really have only up to go there.

It's getting close to time Gulutzan did some line shuffling. 2nd line has been pretty bad lately and with Tkachuk on a roll maybe time to move him with the Bennett and Jankowski line. Can't keep going like this because a losing streak will really put the team in an uphill climb.

Yeah, one of my biggest frustrations is the league is getting quicker - and the Flames are built/play slow by design.
If you don’t have the foot speed, you can move the puck fast to help bridge that gap, yet the Flames play such a slow, predictable style of hockey that any level of speed from the opposition looks blazing while we stand in mud.

Thread title is appropriate. Home Flames are not the Flames. They're some sort of bastardized sheeple clone of the real team that plays on the road.

I thought they played better as the period went on. Had some decent changes around the net that didn't result in a shot on net. Only down by one, regroup and get it back in the second.

I’m sure the second period will have effort and they’ll move up to at least 10 total shots on net for the game. Baby steps.

Anyone else notice boston's fourth line amazing work on the forecheck? Even going back to last game, they would have JG and Mony's line hemmed in. Kind of reminds me of the Flames run to the cup. Pressure, speed and grit.

Ferland has been ineffective for a while now on the top line. Moving Tkachuk up with Johnny and Monahan, and Ferland down with Backlund/Frolik or Bennett/Janko is worth a shot I feel. Then when Versteeg comes back, he could be paired with either of the two lines.

It's Glen Gulutzan, I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for that to happen.
At home, embarrassed last game, and this is the response? Completely outclassed and outplayed. How can anyone think Gulutzan will lead the Flames to anything, is beyond me.

What's most frustrating about this is that we know the Flames can skate and compete with the elite teams, and have even beaten some of them. We've seen it on the road all season. Why they can't bring that same kind of effort at the Dome is absolutely baffling.
