I've got news for you: You don't speak for everybody on here. And if anybody has an agenda, it's the people trying to blame Brodie for every loss.

I find it amusing that one of the complaints against Brodie is, and I quote "He cannot get a puck through from the blueline to save his life."
At 5v5
Hamilton has gotten 48.2% of his shot attempts on net
Brett Kulak has gotten 42.6% of his shot attempts on net
Mark Giordano has gotten 41.4% of his shot attempts on net.
TJ Brodie has gotten 41.1% of his shot attempts on net.
Hamonic has gotten 40.7% of his shot attempts on net
Stone has gotten 38.7% of his shot attempts on net
On 5v4
Hamilton has gotten 47.2% of his shot attempts on net
Brodie has gotten 45.7% of his shot attempts on net
Giordano has gotten 41.2% of his shot attempts on net
SO basically, other than Hamilton none of our defensemen can "get a puck through from the blueline to save their life".
No one is confusing Brodie for a shoot first defenseman with a dangerous point shot (nor were they when he was top 3 in the NHL in ES point rate a couple years ago), but the way people frame it you'd think our other guys shoot pucks like they're net magnets.
A better question might be "why do we play an offense where these six defensemen do not participate beyond 40 foot point shots out of the cycle, when only one of them is presently elite in the NHL at hitting the net, and no one is confusing our forward group for being top ten in the league"?

I wouldn't trade Brodie for a 1st + 2 2nds, as was suggested on the previous page. Not only is that well below market value for a player of Brodie's calibre, production, and skill, but it also doesn't make any sense from a hockey perspective -- Brett Kulak is not very good and I doubt he'd improve any in a top-4 role.

Kulak is not even close to Brodie. Yes, Brodie makes mistakes but his speed and transition game are helpful.
He can be dynamic at times. Only way you trade him is if a guy like kilington develops to replace Brodie with a similar skillset.
Best way for flames to add top 6 skill will be to take on a high priced contract. I think this is done in the offseason. Too much log gam with versteeg coming back eventually.

I think it’s funny that people actually think what they post on here actually matters to anyone else...... let alone those who run the team.

That has the potential to be disastrous for the season and for those players.

As I said, it depends on whether the return helps more than the loss of Brodie costs the Flames. Can Kulak handle more minutes? IDK. But his skill set is as similar to Brodie's as there is on the team as far as skating and transitioning, and he's probably better in his own end. He plays a much simpler game. He would also have Hamonic who, IMO is now the steadiest defenceman in his own zone not named Giordano.
Frankly, I think the hole on the bottom might be the bigger issue. I'm not particularly concerned about the loss of Brodie's offence of more scoring up front comes in. I'm more concerned with whether the overall defence is much weaker.
Anyway, I'm not advocating trading Brodie unless the team is net better (even if the D is slightly weaker). But let's say for Brodie you could get Hoffman and Ceci (who needs to be re-signed) or Chabot?

I thought that before this season, but now I don't. He has impressed me.

From purely a hockey standpoint, hell yes.
From a contract standpoint, hell no.

Friedman this morning speculated that the Oilers may have to look at trading a guy like Larsson to bring in help on the wings.

I have not said anything about Brodie; the thing I have noticed is how many of his shots seem to miss the net wide right. For some reason I seem to notice that from Brodie only.

Confirmation bias. (the tendency to interpret new evidence as confirmation of one's existing beliefs or theories)
If you're not noticing our other d-men missing the net you're not watching. They all do it.

And I’ve got news for you... GJG has a habit of calling other people’s opinion “vomit” and takes border line personal jabs at people when their opinion differs from his. It’s the theme that has taken over CP unfortunately.
I don’t often agree with Dissentowner, but in this case I do. And I’m certain we’ve been down this path, you and I Jay. May not have been you but I do know it was someone who has developed a trend of agreeing with GJG. Which isn’t necessarily a good thing when it comes to the group of trying to light other peoples opinion on fire because they are able to argue their side better.
Edit: FWIW - I realize I’m being passive aggressive in this as well.. but damn.. this place is hella toxic sometimes.

I've never called anyone's opinion vomit.
And the ironic part about your post is you're the one who's been doing this lately. You make completely off the wall trade suggestions with incorrect facts about the players therein, and someone corrects you, points out the massive disparity of your proposal, and you have a melt down and hurl insults.
