I was seeing things checked the score and thought San Jose had won in regulation. Dammit.

Amazing to look at the Flames playoff chances on sportsclubstats from here on out:

Win 13 more games? Probably miss the playoffs (<50% chance)
Win 14 more games? Probably make the playoffs (>50% chance)
Win 15 more games? Almost certainly make the playoffs (>90% chance)

Kipper 2.0! We’re going to the finals!!!!!!

The guys just have to keep playing the way they have been and we will be fine.
Rittich has proven he can step up plus the have guys have confidence in him!

There's a pretty clear group of posters that I would suggest enjoy trash talking the team following a loss more than they seem to enjoy when we win.

I’m with you man, considering my exit too. We get a win and the hot topic is how Frolík is at blame for Smiths injury? Give me a ####ing break.

This place used to be an awesome place to talk about hockey but now it’s just HF 2.0.

I feel bad for the mods. They’ve worked hard to build such an awesome place and now have to watch some top posters leave and quality drop because people need to cry and flood threads with stupid comments.

He said in his last post that he was about ready to step away, and then he did.

Hasn't logged in for months.

Yeap, Tkachuk is post apex.

Was fun while it lasted.

Way to go, Flames!

Caught the first 2 periods, then had to miss the rest. Glad to see they pulled through!

Great game! Love how we applied pressured in the 3rd. The young guys stepped up and made a difference tonight!

I second that AC please don't go. The way I see it is that sometimes good posters get ignored, some favored while trolls get all the attention. Collectively we just have to do a better job of not feeding trolls and reporting them. There have been some here calling out specific players a little too much and it gets negative and very tiresome; But if we work together we can be reporting those we feel are dragging the site down.

Late watching this one, but what a couple of clutch plays by Chuckie on the tying and game winner.

Another great road game. The team continues to look like the real deal over the last six weeks (which is a considerable stretch of the season).

Just gotta keep battling every game, it's gonna be a dog fight down to the wire.

Yep said he too was tired of all the peons constantly whining and slamming the team and players in every GT and PGT.

While the biggest offender was lifetime-banned, the forum is still rampant with overly negative chuckleheads.

Hopefully AC sticked around. Between he SS and FDW that's some quality posters turned off by all the negative drones.

I think the only way to overcome the negativity is with positivity. In the face of positivity, those who live for the negativity will eventually cower.

There simply aren't many reasons to be negative towards this team. We're in the thick of a playoff race in a league built around the idea of parity. Very few teams have pulled away from the pack, and that's unlikely to change.

As a fan, this is why we watch the games - to watch meaningful hockey. Right now, every game is meaningful! If the people who skew to the negative actually had any ground to stand on, the team would be circling the drain like Arizona and Edmonton. We aren't.

This is a good team in a wide open league. Every night matters, and the players are battling. The majority of the important roster spots ("the core") are also filled with young players, so we get to see player growth from game to game, week to week and season to season. This is a great time for the organization.

While I tend to agree; I think the problem lies in the fact some of them are trolls with a hidden agenda. So even if we shower them with positive responses they continue too have too much leeway. Just MHO, I think the key is we have to collectively report them so that the Mods can look into it and deal with it appropriately. Too often many on cp just debate with the trollers and end up being bated and skillfully thrown off topic. Pretty sure some Nucks and oilers fans enjoy riling up the fan base and getting us feeling angry, frustrated over our own players.

If Calgary was a better home team we'd be near the elite of the NHL. That's the most frustrating thing to me by far.

I seldom actually pay much attention to the username behind the post, so I'm probably among the worst at picking out habitually negative posters, but I definitely notice that most fire on ice threads are full of complaining. I mostly just read the E=NG thread now as that's the only thread with any sense of harmony and positivity.

It's a shame that Flames Draft Watcher quit. He was one of the best for an informed view of the Flames.

I agree. For a while I'm going to wait a couple hours and then just search 'gaskal' + 'ATL'.

That was a great game! I thought the Flames played very well and definitely deserved to win that one.

Tkachuk is just awesome. I love that kid.

Really hope Smith is okay, but if he's out I have faith in Rittich for a few weeks.

That and the PP. But for the most part, I agree with the above posts. This is a pretty solid team. If they can iron out the kinks at home and get the PP sorted out, this team will be very tough to beat, and might actually win a playoff round or two.

Yeah there is time to figure that out. Bright side is the great road record which will be nice to have in the memory banks come playoff time.

It is hard to have a consistently strong PP all season long so definitely some season left to get it working.
