those Eagles running backs had a heck of a game. How many times were they stuffed only to push through and grab 3 or 4 more yards?
Really impressed with their determination.

Foles is going to be interesting this offseason. Will somebody overpay in a trade?
Had a great 2013 in Philly, then was just okay the following season in a year that was hampered by injuries.
Looked horrible under Jeff Fisher but I’m starting to think that might be him as a coach considering Foles, Goff, and Keenum all looked good this year after looking brutal with him as coach.
And now Foles has looked really good on playoff caliber teams in KC (limited time) and Philly.

Congrats to the Eagles. That was an epic Super Bowl. I really thought Brady and the Pats were going to come back so massive props to the Eagles D for being aggressive and forcing the turnover. It's hard to believe there was a time in my youth when these games were over hyped blow outs. These days they seem to get better every year.
There were a few interesting decisions in the game, especially Philly going for 2 twice which could have cost them. The one that isn't being mentioned though is the Pats trying the trick kickoff return with a minute left. It probably cost them 15 yards which would have made the last drive a little easier.
Also, regarding the controversy, the first one was a very close call that could have gone either way, while the second was so obviously a TD I couldn't believe how long the review was taking.

would love to know why Butler didnt see any time on D, considering they could have used anybody with the way the D played.

Well I got my hunch half right. I definitely thought the Eagles D would play much better than they did, but they were picked apart and outside the first couple drives didn't get any pressure on Brady until the strip sack at the end, and their secondary was brutal all night. But nobody on that field tonight was going to be more motivated than Nick Foles was. He was playing for his ultimate payday, his one shot at life changing money. And he delivered and will certainly get at least a contract in the range that Osweiler got and probably more. The Eagles should have no problem getting a first round pick for him, and there should be many suitors. Lest we forget he was third in MVP voting not that long ago. As we saw when Pederson altered the offense to Foles strengths, he produced.
And really, as great as Foles was, the MVP was Pederson. He called a nearly perfect game, I would have liked to see him pass on that third down before the FG at the end, don't even give Brady a chance to make something happen, and a 46 yarder is no gimme, a miss and you almost certainly lose given who the QB is and the time left. But that's a small complaint given everything else basically went perfectly. I think we all know his mentor would have blown that game.
Also, congrats to Eli on winning the all-time Super Bowl commercial MVP. How the NFL came up with that, that person deserves a promotion.

Pederson to his credit continued to play aggressively, he didnt get scared and ease up. More coaches need to follow his lead.

I don't think Foles goes anywhere. He nearly retired for a reason and Philly is the only place he wanted to be. I think he'll be happy being the backup.

Really curious as to why Butler didn’t see a defensive snap. There’s always something going on in the background with this team.
And please, haters, keep squawking. Makes me smile even after a tough loss like this one.

I don't really follow the Patriots so I don't know but there had to be something that lead up to this? I thought he was still a quality DB and had to be better than Rowe. Didn't make much sense.

Sure, but they just did it two weeks ago to the number one defense in the NFL. The entire execution was remarkable. Pederson's game plan adjustment to utilizing Foles, I can't think of a better mid season adjustment from a coach and offense.
To think of all the great Eagles, the McNabb and Dawkins years, and the fact Foles is the superbowl MVP...it's just nuts.

Lifetime Suspension

My buddy (who is a police officer) just sent me a link to the Philly PD police scanner. In the 5 minutes I listened there were multiple fires and a guy running over police officers in an eagles jersey on an atv. What the hell is wrong with that city?

Pretty amazing finish -- I like Brady but happy to see another team win a Championship.
Also happy to hear that Collinsworth doesn't know what he's talking about. I've watched VERY little NFL this year and was trying to figure out how in the world that last Eagles touchdown could possibly be overturned... was afraid maybe the NFL enacted some crazy rule that I've never heard of.

Storey is more that Andy Reid was the one coach he was willing to play for. He found his love for the game again and latched on with Pedersen who was groomed by Reid.
Good for Foles though. He had the chance of a lifetime and made good on it. I imagine there will be interest in him, but he'll be hard pressed to find a team who can give him better weapons than the Eagles have. Wentz is no guarantee to be ready for week one so the Eagles may want the insurance. Although if Wentz was to struggle having a Super bowl MVP on the bench....
Eagles deserved this. Gutsy play calling and executing on offence at crucial times. They found a way to keep pace with New England in the second half.
I always wonder about coordinators who have one foot out the door for a game like this. Sure they're professionals, but that has to be some crazy distractions to deal with. Whoever takes over for McDaniels and Patricia won't miss a beat.

plenty of reasons why the game went the way it did and can't really just pin it all on one thing- the secondary for both teams was pretty bad, so they kind of cancel each other out. Otherwise, here were the difference makers:
- The trick play worked for the Eagles, but didn't for the Pats- Brady would have been home free had he caught the ball.
- Foles and the Eagles success on 3rd down. And the two key times the Pats finally get a stop, the Eagles convert on 4th.
- maybe the result would have been the same, but the Pats are a better team with Butler in as #2, regardless of him taking a step back this year. Oh well, his days as a Pat are done.
