Kinda like a Czech league conditioning stint...that would be interesting.

Seems like an unnecessary distraction come playoff time. Highly unlikely he ever steps foot in Calgary again.

Concieveably he could be back before the playoffs here, or really, whenever he wants, depending on what him and the Flames want to do.

I agree but it comes down to a couple factors IMO.
If he can find his legs and gets into real game shape while in Kladno, his desire to come back for a playoff run or not, and most importantly if there is a spot available for him in regards to injuries with Calgary at that point.
He isn't going to come back for 4th line time, of that there is little doubt. So if he is feeling good and he wants one more run and he gets top 9 ice/linemates, then i could see it happening.
Lots of stuff needs to fall into place though, none more so than Calgary actually making the playoffs first.

Arguing this is like banging your head against the wall but count me as baffled that people think the Flames have any interest in bringing Jagr back at any point.
The denial that Jagr's time not only in Calgary but the NHL is done is like being dumped by your significant other but insisting to everyone that you're just on a break.

Could be insurance in case we have major injuries prior to the playoffs. Let Jagr play or give Brouwer more ice time? Your choice.

It’s a fan board, I think your expectations are a little bit high. There are people that think Iginla might come back to us.

Can they retroactively decide to pay his full salary, or do they need to do it up front?

I hope the team is paying is full salary, regardless if he comes back or not.
It didn't work out and that's ok.
If they do him dirty, good luck signing any UFAs in the future.

I can't see this ownership group not paying his full salary for multiple reasons.
1. It leaves the option of him returning open
2. He likely paid his salary in merchandise sales alone
3. He is a legend and not paying a guy like that, that signed a team friendly deal would look really bad on them.
4. He was part of this team, and this organization seems to really take care of one another and treat everyone like family

He still will get paid the full amount. Some NHL teams just negotiate with the European team that the European team will pay a certain percentage of a loaned player's salary.
it isn't like they are backing out on the terms of the contract.

obviously he isn't hitting some of the performance bonuses but they will have to pay his regular salary

See ya Jagr, sad ending. But I said all along I would have rather taken Iginla if there was a choice between the 2.

You would rather the Flames be paying Iginla to rehab from hip surgery?

And all 30 other teams shockingly disagreed with your Nostradamus-like prediction.
Shocking stuff.
Ultimately, I dont think the Jagr saga was a bad gamble at all. Small dollars for an amazing veteran and pretty much no downside.
What really stuns me is Bennett with and without Jagr. With him he seems like what you'd expect from someone drafted where he was and without Jagr he seems lost.
