No chance of that. Even if Vegas slips, one of the California teams will school us on how to finish first.
Buffalo beat Anaheim in Anaheim 3-1 so they can't possibly make the playoffs either

Of all the teams scratching and clawing for playoff seeding, the most important thing down the stretch will be collecting points in games that you played poorly, and not having stretches of poor play. Former has certainly achieved in the last 2. As for the latter, we'll see on Wednesday. I think they'll get up to play the kings.

I was at that game, 14+ years ago, on my birthday, when the Flames last lost to the Sabres in the Dome. For some reason, I recall it being a 3-0 loss, but Google tells me it was 2-0. Either way, it was a pathetic effort that night as well. The only time I ever booed my team off the ice. Had I been there tonight, I would have booed again.

Weird when you see a teams top line on the ice against the home teams 4th line multiple times. How does that happen Gulutzan?

Maybe sending a message to Monahan? Really just grasping at straws, though.

Blah, win the next one in regulation against the Oilers and that will be 4/6 points after the break.
A lot of people seem to think we play the Oilers next but we actually play LA on Wednesday at the dome. Hopefully the Flames aren’t looking past them as well.

(Minus the actual first round pick)
Smith is responsible for probably 7-8 wins this year, so I guess do the math.

Wins are worth the same amount of points regardless of the calendar. Unless you think the coach says, well boys drop in the bucket game it's only January.

Mike Smith is now up to a .926 SV% on the season, good for fourth in the NHL among goalies with 20+ GP

1. Aaron Dell (.929 in 20 GP)
1. Andrei Vasilevskiy (.929 in 40 GP)
1. Corey Crawford (.929 in 28 GP)
4. Mike Smith (.926 in 40 GP)

Dell's basically a backup, and Crawford will likely be out for the rest of the season... meaning there's no reason why Smith shouldn't be in serious consideration for the Vezina.

We definitely need the team to significantly step up their play from the last two games but everyone seemingly proclaiming that this is a bad team because of a overtime loss that actually extended our point streak to 9 games need to take a damn breath.

It's like he outsmarts himself having last change. Put this team in a hotel for home games. Same routine as the road.

Of course, none of this can stop him from making those decisions. I really think the Flames need an upgrade on personnel deployment and in-game decision making.

Beat the effing Oilers please. For once.

So what give up on the season?

Like I said Anaheim got ZERO points against Buffalo in Anaheim...yet they soldier on

I was a terrible game, take the point and move on though

This is the NHL, any team can beat any team

Gulutzan is going to have to throw two sticks next time.

I'm hoping they actually keep Jagr. I believe he's been behind the 8 ball in terms of readiness all season, but he can help offensively.

I think if they get him healthy and he can find his groove he can bring the level he brought in Florida. I don't think he's fallen off a cliff but he was inserted into lineup too early and then got injured.

He can create offense and this team will need it.
