I would agree on Janko and Ferly having a pretty good shot. I have always found Frolik to be lacking in that dept. It seems to me that there have been a number of times I thought he might be in a good shooting position only to muffin a shot towards the net. I think if he had a better shot he would capitalize a lot more in the favourable shooting positions he can put himself in.

Johnny with the emotion is awesome, true winner and infectious on the team. I am surprised at Monahan's reaction to the GWG - was he pissy about Johnny looking him off and not adding to his GWG totals? Little disappointing seeing his lack of excitement there, I know he's relatively quiet, but from a leadership guy...

The team or the city? It would be the Calgary Flames of Alpha Centauri.

I think he was likely tired, I wouldn't read too much into that to be honest.

I think it was just exhaustion...OT, 3 on 3 skating hard for over a minute that shift. He looked bagged.

With the amount of brutal and obvious non-calls, maybe the Flames brass has asked the refs to let things slide as opposed to the cringe-worthy power play coming on.
Loved the win, hated the non-call on Johnny at first until I was thinking maybe we don’t win with an OT PP?

Your takeaway from that game was disappointment in Monahan for not celebrating enough in OT?

That's your take away from my whole post? Easy bud, it's an observation.
Johnny was clearly excited which was also "my takeaway". There was also a question in there wondering why he looked so disappointed and acted like they hadn't even scored. I was watching the game live, being a road game and no goal horn, I was fixated on Monahan's positioning and when they scored, didn't even realize it right away because I was watching him. Never said it was a big deal, curious. I've seen beer league guys more excited with goals.

Why even speculate about this kind of stuff? It is, quite frankly, ridiculous.

The answer would be because you're completely making this up. You have no idea what he was thinking or feeling and of all the things people find to complain about after a win, this is one of the worst I've seen.
Pretty sure he was thrilled with the 2 points.

You mistake is to interpret Monahan's body language as an expression of "disappointment." I also watched the game live and then again this morning watched the condensed version. My interpretation of Monahan's reaction was one of expectation or relief—like the play was something he already knew would happen, which is pretty typical for an extremely low-key guy like him. In fact, his lack of celebration looked very similar to my own reaction following the goal. I was expecting it to happen, and when it did, I said "good," and turned off the TV.

I never made anything up... I asked a question. That what these ? mean. However, you are pretty sure he was thrilled...? You can speculate that but I can't question the fact there was no hand raising, smile or fist pump? lol. wow
Monny has celebrated goals before, he didn't last night, Johnny did - even after his bag skate in OT and any other excuse others claim. This was an observation that isn't typical reaction, I'm not suggesting Monahan wants out and to be traded. Jeezuz guys.

This is a great explanation and reaction to my question. Much appreciate another opinion and view without looking to hang someone and paint it as me viewing something negative.
My post wasn't to be negative, I was looking for any rationale reason as to why the lack of excitement that he has shown before or similar to his teammates in the same moment. It was weird and not typical.

I can't believe people are still discussing the Monahan no celey.
Not the first time he's been gassed in OT and didn't celebrate the winner

No question mark in the above. So it's pretty fair to interpret that a) you're disappointed, not asking any question, and b) you are disappointed because your interpretation of what you saw lacked "leadership".
This all hinges on your interpretation of events you are not a part of, and are actually watching from TV. Sure, you ask if there are explanations, but you then continue to view this through the negative lens you created.
