Good. I can see the guy is trying I take back my Fire GG rants. We need more of this. Tough but fair. You don’t have to be an ass but you need some backbone good on GG.

For me I really don't care if my coach shows emotion publicly (or privately), I care about repeated poor decision-making with regard to playing the wrong lines in the wrong situations, or refusing to fix obviously broken special teams. GG throwing a stick and yelling at everyone is only encouraging to me because it implies that he's getting some pressure from up top for the team to perform, and he probably knows that he's one of the first people on the chopping block.
I just want stuff that translates to wins on the ice. Temper tantrums from a coach that I believe some of the vets have already tuned out (though I have no concrete evidence of that of course, it's just my perception) don't do anything for me except think that his leash might be getting shorter.
But if the team goes and rattles of ten in a row, I will gladly re-think the merits of stick-throwing.

The latter is a lot less effective, IMO, and can actually lose someone credibility. Not sure how the Flames dressing room will take it.

The difference you imagine between an impassioned dressing-down and a stick-throw strikes me as completely arbitrary.

I'm not making it up that's my opinion what this really was about. You do know we as people have OPINIONS and as far the comment "Gully" has said in several interviews several after game interviews he seldom addresses the team during intermission or post games. He has said that he leaves that mainly up to the players and his assistant. Gully is the one making the comments over the past 2 years not friggin Flames fans. He has said several times since he has been hired it. Gelinas has said it after hours come on people need to open their ears.
Soooooo sorry that one fans Opinion on what Gully dumb assed outburst doesn't agree with yours.
I will not go along with popular consent just because. I didn't believe his little rant wasn't staged and like I said the players in private laughed their asses off at his Awkward tantrum.

He did say ‘in his opinion’ twice. Since it’s his opinion, shouldn’t he get to set the line?
I’ve been thinking about this all day and I’m inclined to agree with him. Throwing things is on the tantrum side of things.
We’ll see what comes of it. Results are all that matter now.

At this point I think there's a disease that Giordano carries that he himself does not suffer from, but that spreads to his teammates. This teams issues are a spitting image of prior Flames teams.

He did. I disagree with him. In my opinion these sorts of incidents are not always either positive or negative. They are circumstantial.
But I will say that a coach who rarely expresses his anger will probably elicit a stronger response when he does so than one who wears his heart on his sleeve at all times.

Watching that again, as close to the boards as he was, I don’t think he cleared the glass by that much on the launch. If that stick hit the top of the glass and bounced back and hit someone, I highly doubt that each guy on the ice would not be able to hold back laughter.
GG would have a much bigger issue now.

I didn't imagine anything... I watched the video, my feelings about the effect of Gulutzen's actions altered when he threw the stick, and when I reported as such I mentioned twice that this was just my opinion and acknowledged that the Flames dressing room might react differently.
For a guy that calls himself Textcritic, you missed some glaring indications that I wasn't trying to claim some objective truth.

That's how critics work when you think about it.

I hope the Flames add a stick toss to the Superskills on Sunday. I think some players can get their stick into the second deck.

Is a double negative the best you can come up with? If you're going to have strong opinions, you should be able to articulate them properly.
Of course his rant was staged. Part of coaching is knowing when and what buttons to push. GG is known as a players coach & we have seen this team take backward steps after showing glimpses of success. By calling them out on it, publicly, puts the onus on the players. Some coaches play this card much earlier, Sutter used to, and others don't. Doesn't mean one way is right and the other is wrong. Either can be effective in any specific scenario.
How would you know players laughed? If they did, the Flames have much bigger problems than their coach. That would speak to a cultural or leadership issue. Somehow I doubt Gio, Smith, Hamonic, Stajan & the majority of that room would 'laugh their asses off. Their professionals and paid to do a job. Not a group of teenagers playing AAA.
