Would have been more effective if he wasn’t doing pirouettes while barking out lol. But nice to see some emotion finally

Either way, it's just people speculating and posting very respectfully and then you're kind of coming in here with a really inflammatory shot at a segment of the board which can only make things worse on a site that's been way too divided and ornery.

A little disappointing to see that from a mod as you would typically be the one condemning a post like yours for "not adding anything to the discussion".
Honestly, I’m surprised too. I thought for sure he’d be getting heat for losing the room.

I guess it just goes to show how superficial the analysis and criticism/support for GG really is.

He yells and swears a bit for the cameras and now he’s a good coach again.

I think it is a valid point - there is a sub-set of posters who are trying really hard to fault him for this move. I am both a moderator and a poster on this forum - I'm allowed to express my view. And in this case my view is that some folks have a very unfair view of the coach.
EDIT: I will add that most people are being balanced in their view. Fair point. There is a subset of people that in my view are being completely unfair and saying things like that he "seems scared".

This is not new for me. I've long thought coaches get too much blame. That goes back years on this board and my view has been consistent.

Yeah.. the UFA thing certainly is a deterrent but I thought it should have happened before eithe Monahan and certainly Brouwer..

But if re-signed.. It should happen immediately from Brouwer, but won’t.

Monny has 20 goals in the season, can’t take his and run te risk of him drying up due to overthinking..

But an “A” may have a positive affect on his new contract/negotiations?

GG’s outbreak was great but again, accountability all around if he’s calling guys out. He’s not the Mark Spector of coaching is he?

All the Gulutzan discussion aside, this is for sure a hockey team that needs to be yelled at. A lot. Therefore I condone this.

Very impressive. I have never seen that kind of distance with those light flimsy sticks. Good on Gulutzan. Team needs to play with a fire in it's belly. They should be mad at where they are in the standings and come out and show it.

It's been a disappointing season, he's been rumoured to be on the hot seat and then the went on a tirade and threw a stick 20 feet into the stands.

Of course there's going to be some speculation that criticizes the coach or suggests he may be losing the room, it isn't fair to single that out with a drive by like those posters are stupid and were just looking for a reason to bitch.

Like Cecil, I'm actually surprised there hasn't been more of that in this thread.

I think at the end of the day, fans want to see this kind of passion emanating from the team if only to match their own passion they show to the team.

When you see Gulutzan on the bench he's a robot of composure and screen staring. Easy to think the coach is a pushover when you don't see behind the curtain.

Today we get a peek and fans see some passion and all is swell.

It's also a bummer the players are half assing it so much that such a gentle soul snaps .

This is where Sutter is needed. He knows at the very least, ghow to get the players into it and not lolligaging.

Well to be fair Brouwer was having a good game yesterday and was on a line with the shutdown pair in Backlund and Tkachuk, so I'm not surprised he was out there. But playing one good game shouldn't mean that they can dog it in practice which contributed to setting GG off. It's a good thing he went off on them because they haven't been pulling their weight for most of the season and they're supposed to be the leaders on the team.

I support the idea that you be hard on the players when you're winning and you ease up when they're struggling.

The stick throw is a bit much. Otherwise I like it.

This is easily one of the dumbest things I have read on this board, and I have been here for some time.

Well if the Flames have a half ass game tomorrow we know why. If they win we know it worked. Tmac did it with no results so im skeptical.

I'm happy GG did this. I'd said somewhere before, it's one thing to (possibly) yell at them behind closed doors, but taking it public once in a while I believe can have a more effective result in driving home the point you're trying to get across to them. Embarrass them a little, upset them a little, make them think more than normal.

I see this as nothing but a positive, but at the same time GG can't forget he also has improvement needed on his part too. The whole team coaches and players needs to get better for consistency, so hopefully this is a step towards that.

Hopefully not directed at me, because I love this. It was great to see Gully do it, and more specifically, call out the crappy “support” veterans we have that effectively bring nothing to the team.

It's nice to see emotion from the guy after way too many broken record performances the last year and a half. This team, especially at home, is far to robotic like their head coach. At least he's finally acting like his team is at the crossroads it most definitely is at.
