Your point still stands though, that grabbing Parsons, Dube, Fox, Andersson, Kylington, and Mangiapane, outside of the 1st round over the course of 2 drafts, is looking like a couple of grand-slams.
They are prospects still, but they have done enough to separate themselves from their peers that makes you raise your eyebrow. Players drafted where they are typically have around 15% chance to make 100 NHL games. They are far from a slam dunk, but in most cases in a redraft there is likelihood of them going sooner. Basically trending or developing in the right direction so far.

Outside of Phillips - I don't think this is true.

If these guys weren't Flames prospects you'd never have heard of them or thought they were doing better or worse than any other prospects. I think you can say they haven't busted yet, but they are just normal prospects putting up normal prospect things.

Now if you want a guy from 2016 who's wildly exceeded expectations - how about this guy with New Jersey - http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/p...php?pid=180836 That is wild that a 6th round pick could be that good already in the NHL.

Top line buzzing makes such a difference to this team. I think the 2nd/3rd lines are playing pretty well, even with Frolik out that when the top line generates chances like last night the ice really shifts in Calgary's favour.

I think Stone deserves some love, thought he had a great game and has quietly been playing well for a few weeks now. Stone and Hamonic turning things around have really solidified the defense. Getting his shot of more which is nice.

I want to like Lazar so much but he needs a stint in the minors. Every call up has been miles ahead of him so maybe some time with Huska wouldn't be so bad. Can't imagine we lose him on waivers but Freddy was picked up so you never know.

There's no way to get Lazar to the minors short of him getting injured and needing conditioning. He'd be snapped up for free if he was waived.

He doesn’t need to get injured or to be waived to go down for conditioning. He juSt needs to agree to it.

I find if you watch a game with two teams you don't care about you'll find that the reffing isn't that bad and doesn't impact the game very much.
