How awesome is it to see Janko, Bennett and Hathaway roll the way they are? Is an absolute treat to watch every shift.
The first line was great tonight as well with Johnny continuing to do amazing things all night yet we just expect it now. That kid can defy time and space when he is out there. What a special player.
Tkachuck gets my vote for heart beat of the team again. Man that kid battles every night. He does it the hard way. He does it the right way.
Mangiapane showed some great stuff again tonight. If he can keep that motor going every night he will be here for a long time.

Just got home from the gsme., Had tons of fun, and sure glad the one game a year I go too was a good one. Just missed seeing Jagr.
Overall great effort from the whole team, they dominated the last 49 minutes of the game. Quick didn't look like himself tonight though, seemed to bobble easy shots.
Also it was great to see Tkachuk getting into Doughtys head again

I really liked Mangiapane's game. He has a high hockey IQ, always on the right side the puck, knows how to fake out his opponent one way and go the other, finds his teammates. And then on top of that, the speed to make it all happen. He even took the body effectively a few times. Hopefully he can keep this up. There's no doubt he's an upgrade on a few of the guys already there if he plays like this consistently.

Brouwer has really stepped up his game as of late. Really proud with the way he played. If we see that kind of game from him a little more consistent, this team is going to be a lot more dangerous when Frolik returns.

One of my favourite parts of tonight's game was with about 4:30-5:00 left in the third and the Kings down by two Matthew Tkachuk and his antics single-handedly kept Doughty and Muzzin in their own ends while the puck was in Calgary's end, causing the Flames to outnumber the Kings 4-3 in the Flames end. The Kings were screwed. Even if they won the puck battle down low there was no one on the point to receive the pass.
God I love Tkachuk. Easily my favourite Flame.

Yeast Mode makes me happy. If the flames keep doing this well with late round picks, I'm fine with them trading early picks lol.

I love watching the 1st line when they are on, but the 3rd line is really starting to win my heart as my favorite line to watch. A confident Bennett is a joy to watch. And not much can be said about Jankowski that hasn't already been said; he's a legit NHL player and is going to be a good one for years to come. I've always said Hathaway should be have been a full time NHLer for the past couple seasons, and it's really nice to see him solidify his spot in the line up.

Yes, Mangiapane continues to impress. Looking like one hell of a 6th round pick.

Great effort to turn the game around after an inexcusable goal from Smith and overall terrible start. I like this team when they play like they actually give a damn. The PP is still a dumpster fire that needs to be addressed in the long run for this team to make any sort of a sustained run.

There is something to this I think. Going back the last 3 drafts they seemed to get decent value out of the first round.
2017 - Ruzicka (4th round)
2016 - Parsons & Dube (2nd Round), Fox (3rd), Lindstrom (4th) Tuulola & Phillips (6th)
2015 - Andersson & Kylington (2nd), Mangipane (6th)
I think particularly the 2016 draft made it possible for Treliving to deal picks.

I don't mean to be a downer, but I don't think Lindstrom, Tuulola, Phillips, or Ruzicka are prospects with a legitimate chance of impacting our NHL roster, yet. I'd say that they are all pretty run of the mill prospects that every team has an abundance of.
Your point still stands though, that grabbing Parsons, Dube, Fox, Andersson, Kylington, and Mangiapane, outside of the 1st round over the course of 2 drafts, is looking like a couple of grand-slams.

Mangiapane looks like he can hold his head above water. I see him as a Torey Mitchell type of player, not too big, not a huge offense guy, but quiet effective and versatile roster player with plucky scoring.
