I blame Gulutzan for the win.

Am I doing this right?

Earlier transplant99 stated they’d hit 21 posts in the past 8 games. That is just bonkers.

The missed-open-net stat is probably even uglier. They've been playing good, consistent hockey for a prolonged period. Just haven't seen the dividends yet. Have to think its coming.

If I'm correct its 21 over the last 8 games. That's beyond absurd.
i think SN had an article about that... saying the flames are closer than their record shows... was posted on the site last week...reasons for optimism:

Quote:
The Flames are shooting at just 7.53 per cent in all situations and 5.74 per cent at five-on five, which puts them 28th in the league in both categories. Numbers like that are typically unsustainably low, which suggests some improvement as we move into the second half of the season.

while the Flames have been snake bitten wrt scoring, it seems like its bad luck and can't be sustained...at some point, those posts will start turning into goals...i hope

Let's all be brutally honest here, fix the 4th line and this is a way better team.

I'd take even baby steps and stop playing them 10+ minutes a game. Rolling four lines can severely hurt your chances to win.

Bennett TOI: 12:09
Stajan TOI: 11:13

Huge win though. They keep pace for now.

With respect to Mangiapane: A sixth round draft pick that plays a season or two on your farm team's top line and a couple of sold games in the NHL is already a big win for the organization. Anything else (and I think that there will be a lot indeed) is just icing on the cake.

Credit where credit is due, I didn't really think Brouwer held his line back, he actually rose to the occasion for once.

Not that I want him on that line, but he filled in nicely

Seriously. I can’t watch anymore of stone handed Lazar and one hand on his fencing sword Stajan cruise around wildly being so inefficient. Stajan has a late chance in front that was set up by mangiapane, but he couldn’t do anything with it as he was on one leg, weight all on his heel, with one hand on the stick and it waving like a wand nowhere near the ice. And then to ice the puck with that much time left when your THOSE guys, is insane. Stajan is a vet and he iced it. We all knew LA would get one with those guys hemmed in late.

Thank god we won, but hrivik better be in soon.

Of course it would help, but again it all comes down to your best players being just that.
