Nope Darryl Sutter is a relic of the past. His methods don’t work anymore, and even if you Argue they still do (LA Cups weren’t that long ago), that LA team was built completely different than the Flames up front. Sutter could not deploy his heavy game with our group of forwards.

Lol. You may have some issues with Sutter but him not being a winner sure as hell isn’t one of them.
- Never missed the playoffs in 8 years with Chicago/San Jose.
- Takes Calgary to the cup final and a division crown 2 out of the 3 years he coached here (also a winning record once he took over in his first year here).
- Playoffs 4 out of 6 years in LA including 2 cups and a conference final.
Yeah, what losing teams.

Sutter creates an identity though and I don’t think you will see this team wilt like they do now when things don’t go their way

I don't think the Flames could pay Darryl Sutter enough to come back to Calgary to work for Brad Treliving and Craig Conroy. Wishful thinking for some of you though, but give your head a shake. Time heals all wounds, but far too little time has passed since he was so ungraciously shown the door here.

The LA Kings literally locked him out of the dressing room in his last season there. I just don’t think his methods would continue to hold water in today’s NHL. Younger guys just won’t accept it. Might still work in junior, not in the NHL.

I don’t think he is a long term coach. 2-3 years tops but this team has failed to take a step forward with a Mr. Nice Guy coach. I absolutely prefer Sutter to Tippet or Thierian. If they fire Gulutzan they need to hire someone unemployed.
