His stats don't look bad and he really is just on pace for his usaul totals, compared to last season him and Backlund don't seem to have the same fire. This is all based off the eye test so I'm sure some will disagree.

What a play by Gio on that 2 on 1. Goes unnoticed by most but Smith appreciate it.
Not sure Hrudeys obsession with Marner tonight but it’s excessive. My guess is he talks about this Saturday when he’s back in Toronto.

Or we could go with the obvious answer in that they have a terrible coach who continues to have his teams underachieve, just as he has in all 3 of his previous seasons as an NHL coach.
Oh but i forgot, GG is a good coach cuz there's a thread on CP saying so with a bunch of kool-aid chuggers refusing to look at the vast sample size that says otherwise.
