Good on Cassie Campbell for calling out the dumb plays. Pretty much all game long it was an ongoing affair. Hopefully Smith rips the teams a new one and smashes some Gatorade containers. Can't imagine he's too happy being left out to dry yet again. He actually played pretty decent I thought.
Hamilton was terrible all game. Giveaway after giveaway.

I'd strongly consider breaking up the 3M line. They're starting to struggle. Put Benny on that line or even Jagr, old man racked up 5 shots on goal tonight.

I know Mike Smith has been great for us and he is awesome, but it's a bit annoying that he not only seems to be beyond criticism, but also justified to rip into the team. Last game I get, but not this one. He let in five. Not gonna win a lot of games when letting in five goals. Also it's so damn weird how the Jankowski-line simply doesn't score. It makes no sense for them to just keep struggling while creating great chances game after game. It's like they just lost the ability to finish.

Too slow thinking back of the net. Too sloppy in front of the net. Too many mistakes, too many unforced giveaways. Coach gotta sit someone next game to wake 'em up and make a statement.
Oddly, thought Brouwer had a pretty good game overall.
Wasted efforts by the first line - what a shame! (And wasted effort on the 5-3 kill.)
This team. Wow. Just can't get it together.

Fun game tonight. Fans definitely got their money’s worth. Gulutzan may get them through this long road trip above .500. Good stuff.

rittich is in for a rough night if they play like that again tomorrow. what a pathetic game on the defensive side. no gap control, no composure, blind passes, giveaways in the most dangerous spots on the ice. what the hell happened to them? they seemed so close to figuring it out and it all unravelled again. bartkowski is probably going to draw in tomorrow now too. god speed rittich

When we were up 1 and Bennett had the puck in the slot, he got hooked at least 3 times...how on earth is that not a freaking penalty?!?!?!

I'm glad they lost. If they got a point, they might have figured this was an acceptable effort. It wasn't. Very few positives - first lime, Gio. Let's hope somebody shows up tomorrow.

What an exciting game!
Always nice to see Gaudreau and Monahan each with 3 points.
Gio and Kulak played fine. Not putting this game on Mike Smith.
They'll get the Stars next time. I guarantee it.

Positives? If the D had played an average to below average game, instead of putrid, we win this one. We haven’t seen the team play to it’s full potential, except for maybe 2 games, yet are still 3rd in the division with 75% of the season left to iron things out. Loooooong video session tomorrow for all the defenseman. Also, before putting all the D pairings in a blender, sometimes you gotta let these guys just play themselves out of a funk. Wouldn’t be opposed to see Brodie back with Stone though. Need a big bounce back tomorrow.

I'm getting tired of seeing our defense get ripped apart by aggressive forechecking.
The coaching staff really should find something to solve this issue.
I refuse to believe that our defense is this bad.

Smith is doing his job. Maybe if the D could get the puck out without turning it over and creating a high quality scoring chance for the opposition. If he's letting in softies from the blue he would be getting some criticism, but the guy is single handily keeping this team afloat.

True, but he also prevented another 5 that easily could have gone in. It's also tougher to stop a puck when you're thinking the puck is going up ice and have to stop and re-focus in a split second because of a dumb play by your defenseman.
Smith was not the problem tonight. Not even close.

Pretty hard to hang it on Smith when there are giveaways just a couple of feet in front of his net. That's harsh.

After watching that display, I'm pretty sure David Rittich won't be getting much sleep tonight knowing that he's starting tomorrow...
