False.

The Flames have played four back-to-backs; Smith has started two of them, but the first was a one-off in Vancouver after a home game.

Lack started the next two back-to-back games in St. Louis and Detroit. Smith played the last back-to-back in Washington this week.

I am quite certain that the Flames plan is not to have Smith start in +70 games.
