Regardless of your opinion of Dougie's play this season, Flames are between 55% and 61% when he is on the ice in terms of shots, shot attempts, scoring chances and goals. In fact he is one of the best players in the league this season in most of those categories. So the results on the ice tell a different story. Dougie Hamilton is one of the best defensemen in the league 5v5. Yes, he is playing with a good partner in Giordano, but so are most other top pairing D-men, and his stats are actually better than Gio's as well.
