Don't get why Brodie and Stone were not on the 4 on 3. Hamilton is awful. Really Tre I think this coaching staff needs to be replaced now before the season is lost. I really question their strategy and decision making.

Isn't Leir the guy that was part of Chaisson spearing incident last year.

If your special teams are bottom half of the league, let alone fricking LAST in the league, then you aren't going anywhere.
This team is not very good. Too much bloat, too many guys looking for someone else to be a difference maker. Hamilton, Monahan looking at you specifically.

This thread is awful. Yes the team is terrible on special teams, or at least the PK. But the team is playing very, very well 5v5, out-chancing pretty much every opponent we've faced for some time now. The breaks will come. The people talking about firing GG or the management being in the hot seat are just completely clueless.

I’m not blaming Smith either. The Flames are over-playing an aging player, and to me it looks like he’s been rushed back. The fact the Flames have such little confidence in their backup is concerning, and it needs to be dealt with sooner rather than later.

You'd pull him? That's just ridiculous.

JG is fabulous and all we are doing is burning a year off his contract. I hate this.

Hamilton just isn't a PP guy. Put Stone out there.
Put Gio and Brodie back together and see what happens

The swedish game analysts are analyzing the crap out of the Flames horrible PK, butchering just about every single aspect of it.

No and no...most teams don't pull their starter who has been their best player after a couple seeing eye shots. He saved a 50' break away right after so that pretty much proves you wrong. Another goal or two and then we can talk. You really think throwing in Lack now is a good idea?

Gio and Brodie didn't typically play together on the PP under Hartley. Wideman was on the first unit.

If I keep pounding this square peg into the round hole, eventually the breaks will come! Just be patient guys!

Ridiculous? I said after the first goal he looked off and surprise, surprise he’s been off ever since.
Of course I would pull him, and so would most any other team in the league, and if the Flames don’t have enough confidence in Lack to do that, it’s a big problem.

Well it's American Thanksgiving pretty quick here. This team is a average team at best. The roster looks fine on paper, this coach doesn't seem capable of getting it to play up to that potential. It took 2 long winning streaks last year, on the back of exceptional goaltending, to get them into ghetto playoffs last year.
Much the same as thus year, where outside of the outstanding goaltending by Smith, this is a below avg nhl team.
Flames lose, oil win later today, and the flames only 2 points up.

The league is all special teams now. Everyone is basically the same 5-on-5
