Not much Brouwer can do sitting on the bench when the fracas broke out. A little unfair to point the finger at him. I mean he even prevented an enraged Monahan from doing something impulsively dumb that could have cost him a suspension.
At least cut the guy a bit of slack.

The Flames got wrecked tonight. We gotta move on. The disappointing part is that Brodie and Hamonic might've singlehandedly cost us this game. We might've still lost anyways but the Wings only had 6 5v5 high danger scoring chances all game. Brodie and Hamonic were on the ice for 4 of them.
After the 6-2 goal, it was game over but overall, aside from Brodie, Hamonic, Lack and a couple others who played like complete s***, the rest of our team actually played very well for the most part.

LOL, I deleted a rambling drunken post..seriously I am wasted, just got back to London, but I have never been more embarrassed to be a Flames fan.
There was a good five minute break and the arena was showing us getting beaten again and again. Ferland and Gio went out to skate around during this...neither saw another shift. I am so disgusted right now.
I will have more to say tomorrow.

Ferland and Gio wanted to do something about it, but our idiot coach, whom I have supported until tonight, put guys out he knew would not fight.

They played the whole thing on the largest screen I have ever seen at a hockey game (the Little Caesar's arena is awesome) over and over again and I watched the Flames watch it. You could see Gio and Ferland seething..GG just stood there like a moron.

I think it's a little absurd to think Glen doesn't prepare his team game in and game out. Ultimately it's up to the player to use that preparation to go out and execute.
When the coach says "we weren't prepared to play" he's not saying I slept in and forgot to show everyone my pie charts. He's saying the players took the night off, the players thought it would be easy, that they didn't need to play hard because they had already won in their heads.
I am confident that GG prepares his team for every game. What the players choose to do with that preparation is up to them.

The Flames had just taken a 5 minute major and a bunch of game misconducts.
I would be very livid too at such a classless thing to do. But if I am a coach and my best defenceman and first line RW tell me they want to start #### and risk getting suspended right after all those game misconducts, I am too telling them hell no and go walk it off if need be but you aren't hurting our team just because these other guys wanna be a bunch of wanks.

Glad I missed this one. Looks like the entire team didn't show up. Hopefully some motivation comes out of the brawl and please Mike Smith come back soon.

If you put Ferland out on the PK with less than 5 minutes left and something happens, the NHL suspends Ferland and comes down hard on the team.
As much as I wanted revenge, losing our 2nd leading goalscorer and/or captain would not have been wise.

I am happy to say yes.
I was merely making a joke of what Peters said last season considering most, if not all of what he said was true as of tonight. I just find it hilarious how a statement from last season could still be factually true this season at the moment. With that said, I'm not faulting Lack for all the goals he let in. He just didn't make any big saves.

Probably true. I think Gulutzan is a guy that tries to think with a cool head instead of reacting on emotion.
I do wonder what someone like Brian Burke thinks when he sees his team get beat down in these types of scenarios though.

I respect you and your opinion (and all you do for CP) but no. It was embarrassing and disgusting to see the Flames just sit back and get beat and beaten up. In my 35 years of being a Flames fan (I moved to Calgary when I was 4 from Fort McMurray in 1981, took me a year before I started liking hockey) I have never been more disgusted with an effort.
I was at this game and when Wings fans told me they thought they'd get another loss before the game I was feeling so good about the team, then they just gave up, then got their asses handed to them physically too. I want Gazdic up on this team now. This game will send a message to the league that the Flames will not push back. It was thoroughly disgusting and I wish that I had stayed home...
Oh..I'm in Columbus next week. I fully expect that this will spark something and it will still be a 4-2 or 5-1 road trip (that's the optimist in me)

There was more than 5 minutes left and it's not like Ferland is goon,. Gio so badly wanted out there too. I watched him and Ferland just seeth. I'm disappointed that any of the other guys on the ice didn't do something. It's not in their usual game, but dammit, the fans were literally laughing..I'm not joking. The arena was literally laughing at the Flames as they showed the replays.....

Yeah I feel you zukes. It was tough enough watching it over TV, can't imagine how induriating it would be live. And we folks weren't privy to the whole dickery that happened during the break until you told us just now.
I do feel that yes, Gio and Ferland will need to take some level of calming down from their teammates, they are probably even more upset at Gulutzan than yourself. But I am confident that cooler heads will prevail in the morning.

So you would prefer for some of our best players to go out there and potentially get either injured or do something worthy of a suspension? In a game that was already over?
Mmm... doesn't sound like the smart thing to do to me.
I too wanted more rough stuff from the Flames after that brawl but that was just the pissed off fan with me. It would've been dumb to put our best players in that kind of position. Especially considering how important this road trip is.
