But dude he's like having a coach who plays on a line with our young guys, plus even though he's slow he's done better than most of our bottom 6 which while that's not necessarily a good thing I don't see why that's a problem with Jagr.
We've got several players who have frequently played on the team worse than him, Stajan, Lazar, Hamilton, Glass, even Brouwer though I haven't minded his play this year. That and who is actually better than him on the right wing for our bottom six within the organization right now? We can talk about we should have signed someone else for the right wing, but they tried and had to settle for Jagr at the end of the offseason to which I say at least they tried, but it was good on Treliving to have the foresight to keep in contact with Jagr in case we couldn't fill that spot.
If you observe Jagr's last few years in the league here, he's been such an effective forward still because he protects the puck like basically nobody else in the league can, and that combined with his hockey sense and playmaking ability not only make up for his lack of speed, but make him very far from a bad thing to have. One player such as Jagr (insert old veteran on any team) doesn't hinder a team, but having a collective of 2 goals and 12 points from your entire bottom 6 forward group over a combined 80 games thus far is atrocious. Heck, Jagr's second in our bottom 6 in points and has played barely over a third of the games.

What he said last night in the interview about being scared of injuries is not a "Buy" on a 45 year old hockey player.
The puppy love will subside. Calgary's offense is very bad. 3rd last in the League
Moves will be made. The whole entire offensive system is a mess and shows zero signs of changing.
PS: I've hated this signing from the beginning. Not a fan of Ferland being on the First Line either. I'm a man who likes to let his top horses run. Bennett Monahan Gaudreau...
Burying Bennett is not good for his confidence. He's never played 3rd line in his life. I don't see why anyone should start him there. But it's all for the team though right?
He'll play out his 2 years here and go light it up where people believe in his skills.

Hasn't Bennett only played on the third line in his 3 years in Calgary?
This is a pretty standard development strategy with young players. When has he proven, on a consistent basis, that he deserves to move up the roster?

Let's just put it this way. Call me grumpy, and I think I speak for a lot of people. My attitude will change when I see a Jagr Salute. Not a game earlier.
PS: Bennett > Ferland - any day of the week.

I am only responding because I am dying to know what sort of weird job it is you have whereby people pay you to be wrong or disagreeable.
Also, why does expecting that Jagr will fail “beat” enjoying his place on the team? That’s bizarre.

That second to last shift when he took the shot that almost grazed the cross bar, then regained the puck behind the net and took it with speed and drive all the way to the blue line and circled in for another shot...his confidence is back.

Jagr talking to Bennett all game long. I think he's going to make it his mission to help Bennett take the next step forward.
One day Jagr is going to help turn that kid's game around.
