Kamenev is a 2nd in a redraft I'd say, probably a year away from the NHL. Hammond would have negative value however Colorado could afford a lot so they'd take it in a heartbeat for the deal to get done
I guess this depends on if Ottawa can re-sign Duchene and if he realizes his potential..
Yeah if they don't re-sign him they have to make noise in the next two seasons but for this season it's essentially Turris for Duchene which isn't a huge upgrade. Looks like a good deal for the Avs but if any team can screw up those picks and prospects it's them. I feel Nashville came out really good here as they just added a quality center without subtracting anything off their roster.
That is a huge haul for Colorado and although they are worse off today it will definitely show dividends in the future. Also a good move for Nashville getting a #2 centre.
Not sure about Ottawa though. I know they were likely going to lose Turris in free agency but giving him up plus picks and a prospect for Duchene seems like a huge over payment.
Also, obligatory:

Was this a real 3-way trade or more like Ottawa trading Bowers, Hammond, 1st, 3rd, Turris to the Avalanche then the Avs flipping Turris to Nashville for a 2nd, Kamenev and Girard?

That is basically how three-way trades work.
