guessing the Avs would be interested in Fabbro or Chabot from Nashville and Ottawa, respectively

There's no way Chabot is involved.

Turris has crazy contract demands and is likely not going to be back in Ottawa. Duchene on the other hand really wants to play in Ottawa so the Sens are taking a risk they have a better shot at re-signing him.
@FriedgeHNIC: Turris is signing a 6 years, $36M deal in NASH

That's not crazy.

That wasn't what he was reported wanting in Ottawa.

Wow that is crazy! Colorado gets lots of quality for those who don't know those prospects, all pretty high end.

With Bowers being a 1st round pick from 2017, Ottawa essentially trades pending UFA Turris + 2 1sts + 3rd + Hammond for 1.5 years of Duchene (maybe more)

Not sure I do that deal.

Jeez at that price for Duchene I'd almost be open to putting Monahan on the market. Insane return for Colorado for a guy with only two years left.

Colorado gets Bowers who is an equivalent to a first, Girard who made the NHL as a 19 year old, Kamenev who is a pretty productive AHLer, a 1st, a 2nd and a 3rd

That's a big haul for the Avs if it's true.

Ottawa has been wanting Duchene for quite some time... dating back in June, no? They were probably finally willing to overpay when Sakic wouldn’t budge.

Sakic looks to have made out like a bandit here.

Holy smokes that is a haul. If a couple of those boys work out and he makes a couple decent picks...that could be a franchise altering deal a few years down the road.

Ottawa gets better today, Turris will be a really nice fit in Nashville. Sakic upgrades a couple spots in his prosect cupboard, now and in the future, and adds a couple now bodies.

Win win win?

NYI Isles offered Hamonic, 1st, 2nd. Hamonic got the Isles a 1st, and 2 x 2nd

So NYI Isles offered Colorado 2x1st round picks, 3x2nd round picks

Today Colorado got:
1 x first
1 x second
1 x third
Bowers = late first
Kamenev = mid second
Girard = mid second

So basically the same return as what the isles offered

In a redraft Girard would be a 1st rounder, so I think there is a bit of an upgrade

Agreed, but is Kamenev a 2nd in a redraft?

Also, does Hammond's contract have negative or positive value in a trade? Ie - isn't it a bit of a salary dump that the Avs wouldnt have had to take if they did the deal with the isles?

Kamenev is a 2nd in a redraft I'd say, probably a year away from the NHL. Hammond would have negative value however Colorado could afford a lot so they'd take it in a heartbeat for the deal to get done
