The atrocious special teams needs to be addressed. It's currently deciding games right now, similar to where it was last year.

Bottom 6 needs to be fixed. Badly.

Games are tough to watch with terrible effort, mind boggling personnel choices, and suspect officiating.

Green text? Even if they won, I don't know how you could have enjoyed that game.

Not going to be going to any games until they work out this awful play at home.

Don't know if this team is going to realize it's potential without some major tinkering. A couple retooling trades may be in order if they end up being a bubble team this season. Should be capable of so much better.

Dear lord this was lehtonen and a tired stars team that gave up 5 to the oilers.....................

No energy, no urgency, no fight. It's not the losses that gets me. It's like they just don't care.

Not a great effort. But they did get jobbed by the refs tonight.

Why is Stajan, Brouwer and Versteeg on the ice with 3 minutes left in the game? Why is Brouwer and Versteeg out there destroying every PP? Because of reasons I suppose.

GG has to go. Doesn't have what it takes

Our performances are so flat. Out breakouts and special teams are garbage. We play on the perimeter way too much.

Man. Yeah that was pretty ####### shameful. Maybe it does take 2 years for a group to learn a system and properly execute it. Look at Vegas. Oh wait.

In the Gulutzan thread I mentioned how he wasn't as bad as say, Willie Desjardins last year. Tonight he was and I feel foolish.

Agree that the refs played a major role tonight but that PP and the PK are just sinking this team and the decision to roll lines regardless tonight was brutal.

At least Bennett didn't take penalty. Glass half full people.

We shall see how this plays out, but nobody looks particularly motivated out there.
If that’s where he is mentally to motivate the team...it’s panic. He’s run out of other options and know his job is on the line.

IMHO.

Don't look now, but Oilers win their games in hand, and all of a sudden we will be worse than no good.

Naw we need all these great locker room guys. Great teams have great locker room guys. Brouwer serves the nachos, Stajan serves the drinks and Glass is a welcome mat.

Bartkowski greets the guys after a great effort like tonight.

And after all this Jankowski will be sent down. This organization is a joke.

how you hand lehtonen his first win of the season:

brouwer 14:16 toi
stajan 13:23
glass 10:39

bennett 9:06
jankowski 7:53

2/5 of the 1st pp are players from the bottom 6, the same bottom 6 that has combined for no even strenght points in all the games played so far

i feel sorry for the fans who paid to watch gg put brouwer and stajan on the ice a goal down with 2:30 left

Last few games they've started off super strong but it's like if they don't get rewarded for it, they get all antsy about it and for the rest of the game get outplayed. It's so odd to watch... we were better in the initial part of the year where we got consistently outshot and outplayed in the first 20. Something's gotta give... also, who cares if Stajan/Brouwer and the like have to pass through waivers, if someone were to take them we should thank them. Get Hathaway and Mangiapane up, couldn't hurt.

This season just isn’t fun. The hockey is an ugly, boring mess.

I know things can turn around quickly in this league, but as a spectator/STH, it’s just not entertaining.

The idiocy being shown by our coaching staff really is driving me crazy. Stajan/Brouwer/Glass are NEVER going to help you win hockey games, yet they get more ice than Jankowski/Bennett, who at least have untapped offensive potential.

Pathetic. How do you only score one goal on Kari Lehtonen?!? Yeah that horrible call on Hamonic was a turning point but it only resulted in the game being tied.

Third game in a row the Flames were dominated on special teams and the 2nd time in a week blowing a lead to lose at home against a team playing back to back with their 2nd string goalie.

I'm not sure what to think about the PP since the same lines were dominant last year but something needs to change.
