Checking in during intermissions only for my own sanity.
Great period, Smith held the fort when needed (Elliott would have let 3 in for sure), and a lot of tenacious work leading to quality chances.
A little less fancy next period as we were guilty of over passing.

If this was last year, Elliott would have let in a softy after the flames turned it on. Smith is playing well.

Flames started slowly, but that was an excellent period overall. Love the intensity in the latter half of the period. They're definitely the better team so far. Just gotta carry that over into the 2nd.

Doesn't it have to be a challenge though? Otherwise why would that be?

It was like 7-2 Ducks after the 5-on-3. 8-2 Flames from then on.

Thanks. I knew it was only a penalty for one of the challenges but couldn't remember which one

I know its early in the season but I haven't felt this comfortable about our goaltending since the Kiprusoff days.
Also anyone know why they keep booing Giordano?

Okay Auston Matthews doing the Pat Kane celly against Chicago is really funny.

Solid second half of the period.
More pucks to the net rather than over passing. Missing the net a bunch.
Otherwise, all 4 lines and D looking good.
LOVE seeing Brodie looking like the old Brodie. See his confidence knowing that he can skate himself out of trouble.

If we can keep this pace of play for two more periods, the curse will be broken tonight. Great pressure by the Flames. All lines are working hard. Whoever the mysterious motivation speaker Gulutzan has brought in to speak to the team today, give that guy a contract.

Definitely.. Smith looks like an actual starter. Making basic saves. Very calm.

I missed the first half of the period, but I'm assuming we weren't as dominant in the first half as we were in the second?
