Man is it ever nice to have a goalie keep you in a game when you start slow. I wasn't that impressed getting Smith this summer, but he's Been a complete breath of fresh air.

Yup, correct. That change was brought in at the same time as the penalty for failed coaches challenges I think

There seems to be a lot of negative comments in what has been a pretty decent first for the Flames I thought.

Pretty good period I thought. They play like that for 40 more and they’ll win the game.

That was a spectacular period by the Flames. I have no idea how the shots are so close. Must be a trigger happy Anaheim shot count guy.

More of that please.

Great 1st period. Outside of the penalty kills I think the Flames totally controlled the play. Keep that up and we'll be fine.

Flames looking good, but would like to see a goal in favour for the Flames. Seems like Anaheim always hangs around when we dominate them and then boom boom. They take the lead and that's that.

Really solid period so far. Gaudreau is laying down some unreal saucer passes tonight. Last 8 minutes of that period were beauty.

Team looks fantastic. Might be one of the best periods I've seen them play on Anaheim. Day and night from last year.

It’s only a penalty for an offside challenge.

Good road period

When this team completes passes they start to look real dangerous

Well overall a more than acceptable period by the Flames. Play like that for the lion's share of the season and we are all gonna be very happy fans

Best I've felt after a period in Anaheim in a decade.
