If it happens, I'll say Vegas or St. Louis

This makes sense.

They want depth. If they like what he brought in his stint there, the asking price would obviously be next to nothing.

...by "wouldn't surprise me" I also mean this;

Signing Jagr means giving up on Brouwer in the top 9, which makes Brouwer completely expendable. This scenario didn't come suddenly, which means Treliving has had time to think about what to do with Brouwer, and discuss a potential trade with other GM's.

100% how I feel. I'm stunned if he is moved based on the length & dollars of his deal.

I was pretty excited to see him added last year, but its just been harder and harder to justify.

If true, we'll see what we get back or have to also give up. Won't be cheap.

The OP source has a lot of inside knowledge about the Canucks...

Gotta think if he's heard anything, it's because Vancouver is the one making the trade.

Canucks, St. Louis or Vegas would be my guesses.

St Louis makes all kinds of sense. They lost Fabbri, and lost out on Jagr who they were after to replace Fabbri...

Couple that with the fact that Brouwer was a beast for STL, and I could see a decent deal that includes ~$1.5MM of retention for CGY...

STL has no cap space, but will be able to put a lot on LTIR in the coming days.

Berglund's making $3.85 + Fabbri's $894k + Sanford's $875k.

Brouwer at 50 percent salary retention must be worth at least future considerations? Shouldn't get bent over too badly, just the money most likely retained against the cap for the duration of his contract is enough of a pill to swallow.

Except for building his post-retirement house here. But still, does he want to languish on the 4th line, probably not.

too good to be true. Am skeptical about believing it until more details are available.

If Brouwer is traded on the same day Jaromir ####ing Jagr is signed, I'm scratching out every single name on the mayoral candidate list and writing 'Brad Treliving'.

I'm not even bloody joking.

I too was a fan of the deal when it happened...and then I saw what we saw and then I wasn't a fan anymore.

My guess is that if or where he goes, Flames retain salary.

I think they call him Tank Commander.

They could be going for Dahlan!
