Maybe bartkowski gets sent down today. That would be a big shot of confidence for the youngsters.

I think/hope it's Wotherspoon & Kulak as our 6+7. We need to find out what these guys are at the NHL level, so keep them as the 6+7, ride whoever is playing best, and each of them should get 30-50GP.

Looks like Haynes has confirmed Parsons and Mangiapane have been cut:
Darren Haynes @DarrenWHaynes
Yep, cut-down day. Tyler Parsons trying to jam his goalie bag into the back seat. Mangiapane's bag is in the trunk.

Rittich will stay up and play one more game. He has earned it. Was backup last night.
Would not mind seeing Lack versus Rittich for 30 minutes each next game.

At 1.4 million we can afford to send Lack to minors if Rittich more impressive. Although I suspect Lack will get a long leash even if he flounders in pre-season.

Knew Parsons wasn't likely to stick but it would have been nice to see a little more of him.

True, but Stockton's camp opens Monday. I suspect it is far more important for him to be there, competing for a spot in his first pro season.

The Flames lose the trade but no room for Granlund on the Flames. Nothing to worry about.

Those are the sorts of trades no one should ever pine over losing nor gloat about winning.

Everyone knows its common courtesy to give the goalie the trunk. He must have lost a bet.

Here are my predictions. The guys who are bolded are locks for opening night. The guys who are crossed out are likely sent packing. The other guys aren't locks, but probably have shown enough to stick around for now. If they do go to 15 & 8, I think the guys above the line will be the survivors, but the guys below the line could also survive if they keep more guys.

I think Dube over glass personally. Dube has earned an extended look

Oh yeah. But same argument. Granlund is maybe even in tougher on this team because he was drafted as a C and was just being shoehorned into roster spots. So he's looking at bottom 6 on this team IMO.

Dube gets sent to junior eventually but I'd like to see him rewarded with a few NHL games.

Agreed. A little encouragement for him to work towards this year. He was great in Penticton, and has been really good in preseason. I think he's an NHLer in a year or two.

Listening to his interviews, I don't think that Dube is expecting to play any NHL games this season. He knows that he is headed back to Kelowna, just wants to stay as long as possible. I feel that he's earned at least one more pre-season game (probably Winnipeg). If his development continues at this pace, I expect to see him on the Flames roster as early as 2019/2020.

You don't unnecessarily waive someone in order to give a guy a few games. Dube has been solid but it's not like Monahan and Tkachuk where they forced themselves into the line-up.
