Who gets chopped in tomorrow's cuts?

I think these players are cut:
 Cramarosa
 Shinkaruk
Possibly Poirier (we still don't know what's going on here)
 Klimchuk
 Hrivik
 Mangiapane
 Gazdic
 Foo
 Pollock
 Carroll

 Robak
 Ollias Mattsson
 Healey
 Valimaki

Will fill this out in a bit here too.

Really confused with what's going on with Poirier. Was hoping to get a better look at him in some of these games.

I agree with this list except I think Foo & Valimaki will stay around. Not sure if either will make opening day roster, but they've both shown flashes.

The remaining battle in the forward ranks seems to include Hathaway, Hamilton and Glass for the 13 and 14 spots.
I was hoping one of the young skill guys like Foo, Shinkaruk, Poirier, Klimchuk or even Mangiapane would seize the opportunity. Now it seems all are Stockton bound. Since this group isn't pushing I am now for adding Jagr. Think he would really help round out the top 9

Oh, and Andersson may yet make the team, and at the very least is more valuable long term than Sven IMO.

Those are separate trades.

Shinkaruk was traded for Granlund.
Baertschi was traded for a 2nd (Andersson).

I think your point still stands, Baertschi and Granlund wouldn't be on this team regardless IMO compared to our other players / Jankowski about to make the team.

I think what Dion means is he hated trading Sven for the return of a 2nd round pick, at the time I certainly had more faith in Sven becoming a solid NHL'er than a mid 2nd rounder, Lucky for the Flames Andersson was the pick and not a 2nd round dud like Hunter Smith or Mason McDonald.

In his postgame presser, Gulutzan said he wants to be down to 15 & 8 tomorrow, but that a few guys have earned an extra look. That makes it sound like it might be a little more than 15 & 8.
Here are my predictions. The guys who are bolded are locks for opening night. The guys who are crossed out are likely sent packing. The other guys aren't locks, but probably have shown enough to stick around for now. If they do go to 15 & 8, I think the guys above the line will be the survivors, but the guys below the line could also survive if they keep more guys.

Re shinkurak. The trade made sense at the time because Granlund wasn't making the team and Shinkurak was still a magic bean with one more year of not having to go through waiver, which Granlund did. Granlund still doesn't make this team, nor will shinkurak. It was a lateral move at the time. He is still pretty young so maybe there is something there, but he will have to find it is Stockton.

I think Valamaki should just be sent down. I don't think realistically he has a chance to make the team at the expense of the 5 dmen fighting for that last spot. Send him down now so you can concentrate on who the 6th dmen will be this year, not next.

I think Valimaki gets sent down as well, for the simple reason that there is still a big fight for the #6 spot, and Gulatzan is going to need to see more of Kulak, Wotherspoon, Bartkowski and Andersson.
Simply no more room to give Valimaki another game.
