a few of these guys will be on the Flames roster
a few of these guys will be on the Canucks roster
the lineup really wasn't all that one sided IMO

Based on the preseason so far, if I were Brad I'd keep Jankowski, has been better than Lazar by far. I'd give Dube a look for a couple games. Kulak-Stone is probably my third pairing. And I'd be making a phone call to Jagr's camp. I'd also be praying each night that this goaltending duo turns out.

Had pretty good seats at the game, probably wont sit in seats like that for the rest of the year.
That being said, Jankowski was the only forward that was threatening in the offensive zone. Hes ready and should be in the line up every game.
Versteeg was awful. Just a poor effort all game long. GG should have sat him down. I thought Kulak and Bart were the worst of the auditioning Dmen, especially Kulak. He had a pretty poor showing.

Games like this are making the coaches decision easy on who to send down to the AHL.

Survive the next cuts:
Valimaki, Kylington, Andersson, Jankowski, Dube, Glass, Kulak, Gillies. Am I missing anyone? rest seemed like they should be on to the farm.
EDIT: Lazar survives the cut too.

You do that.
As I said, you've done a perplexing job of watching him so far as a whole and seem to have come to a very different conclusion from everyone else.
The first thing you said is that you don't have a Janko / Feaster grudge and from the way you've brought it up and fixated on it, I'd wager you very much do.
He's had two solid games now and I think he's making a case to make the roster for sure.

He had his moments, good and bad. At times he can look like Thornton or Getzlaf, at others you hope he ends up as good as Colborne. Sadly, likely to be much closer to latter than former, but doesn't mean he can't be a valuable piece. Think he still just has a lot to learn and needs to get stronger still.

I'd agree that Jankowski had a rough game especially towards the end. Not too worried though, that'll happen to young players. I still think he's ready to be given a shot in the NHL.
I was disappointed in Lazar, wanted to see a harder push from him.
Dube has so far been the real story of the preseason, if he keeps that up he's sure to get a spot. Reminds me of Byron at times, tenacious smaller guy with good wheels.

Agree with this. Think Lomberg is showing enough "Hathaway" to earn a longer look, but not suggesting he is anything other than a bundle of passion and energy.

It's the Brent Sutter / Glen Gulutzan "cycle cycle cycle no risk" offense even when you're down a goal.

That's fair - all I've said is that I haven't seen it yet, and backed it up with an albeit very small sample of actual analysis. Janko's having his tires pumped pretty good around here and wondering if it's justified.
And I definitely don't. I have never posted about either Janko or Feaster before.
Always disappointing to lose to Canucks and Oilers, but preseason is no cause to worry. Hopefully they can start going in time for reg season.

For the last 5 years or so I have heard this same crap spouted during the pre season. Oh it's just pre season, doesn't matter if we lose these games. Then when the regular season starts the team gets off to slow crappy starts. If you develop a " don't give a crap" attitude during the pre season it is hard to turn the give a crap switch back on when season starts for real.

This pre season has hooefully been a lesson in humility. There's bright spots for sure but the whole team game for any one roster hasn't pulled together for a win. Hopefully they get it together in the next week or so.

The quality of my stream was iffy but Jankowski was one of the most noticeable forwards in the entire game to me. I liked what I saw. He's on the team IMO.
Foo wasn't impressive at all.
Bartkowski was bad
Still don't think Valimaki has a realistic chance of making the team.
Still think Kylington needs to add strength and round out his game but he's coming along nicely.
Andersson and Kulak have a decent chance. I think Bartkowski brought Kulak down that game.
Lomberg and Dube noticeable. Lomberg gonna push but there's not much room. Dube's been great but going back to junior is best for his development IMO.

Still seems odd to toss that out as a disclaimer and then make no mention of how he's stood out so far (which he has).
If suggesting he's looked good so far and has an inside track to make the roster is "pumping his tires" it's certainly a better take than yours in saying you don't see it but haven't really watched that close.

Got to watch most of the game thanks to the Reddit link.
Janko strong start but had some poor passes in the 3rd. Still made a nice backcheck when he had one giveaway. Definitely overall a great preseason so far.
As others have said Dube has been very impressive, holds the puck well.
Bartkowski was (is) TERRIBLE. Kulak was also brutal.
Gillies was a bit all over the place. I'm not a fan of losing all the preseason games. Hope we can win some.
