Imagine if it was Engelland and Brouwer.

Would be Vegas taking probably two if the biggest whipping boys from the last couple years here.

Sounds like the Engelland one is still just a rumour.

Wouldn't bug me though. Only player Flames lose is one they weren't bringing back anyway? Cool

I'd rather Brouwer and Engelland instead of just Engelland. We can get a Troy Brouwer for 2 mil

Brouwer outscored Chiasson by one goal. Arguably that replacement is already in the organization and will probably cost even less than $2mil to keep.

Wow the overreactions in this thread have been delicious and there are no picks actually announced yet!

It is unreasonable to act like the Flames have a consistent pipeline of players lined up like dominoes ready to take on this role that Kulak will likely fill. The team has been trying to fill that role with players such as Wotherspoon, Jokipakka, Nakladal etc for years and to no avail. The sad alternative is that he is replaced by an aging, more expensive FA player that performs to a very similar level with nothing but downside.
They have also tried to fill that role with Kulak, but he has been unable to step up and seize the opportunity.

Andersson is a better all-around prospect. And Kylington has more upside.

I would prefer not to lose Kulak, but it really isn't a big deal if we do.

If anyone is going to be ready (and none of them may be) this year it is more likely going to be Kulak as he has been named one of the top defensive players on the AHL team as recently as last year and been one of the first call-ups most frequently.

This upcoming season would be the first chance he has to legitimately take a spot with Engelland and Wideman gone.

Pierre LeBrun @PierreVLeBrun
Believe that the Vegas expansion pick from San Jose is David Schlemko

ROFL. EDM wastes a 1st and 2nd for nothing. Meanwhile Tinordi is hand-wringing about potentially losing Kulak.

This place would go bananas if Treliving subsequently moved Brent Kulak in a deal.
