One persons ignorance means JAIL and the other persons ignorance means "well shucks he's just a newbie that doesn't understand and can't be expected to". That's how US politics and definitely the GOP roll.
And of course, there is so far nothing to suggest that Clinton truly mishandled anything.

There's also no such extra burden on using it as grounds for impeachment.

Well that's neat... me and Nate Silver are of the same mind on the above...

Yeah, one thing we haven’t learned very much about today — although Comey might have no way of knowing it — is what Trump told other people such as Sessions about his reasons for firing Comey.
|
One thing to keep in mind is that there will be no smoking gun from Comey's testimony... it's just (potentially) going to be part of a larger narrative. The Watergate investigation took years, this too will take years.Trump better hope that this resolves (one way or the other) before he leaves office.

Is it me or is McCain completely struggling with the whole thing? Really confused with his rambling. He's having a stroke or something right now

McCain is embarrassing himself. He's full on senile grandpa right now.
Such a maverick.

McCain has lost it. He's gone full senile. Or he has no comprehension of what the Clinton investigation was about.

McCain was trying to conflate the investigation into Hillary's email with the Russian interference. It was pure grandstanding to make Comey look partisan. He sounded like a doddering old man too. I'm losing more and more respect for him, while Comey is earning it today.

You had any respect for him after looking at his voting history vs. his maverick statements?

A tiny bit, mostly because of his war record.

This was a massive missed opportunity for entertainment by having Trump giving a speech at the same time. Would love to have had Trump live tweets for this so he could incriminate himself.

Either someone at the WH was successful in convincing Trump that it wouldn't be in his best interests to live-tweet the hearing, or they're just sitting on him while they hide his phone.
To me that was the wild-card of today; I didn't expect anything more significant out of Comey than what we already knew, but Trump could have easily made his situation even worse.

Best part is he actually said "I considered it, but I decided against it because it would be brutally unfair, because I knew there was no case there."

Live feed from the Oval Office, where President Trump's aides have prepped him for the hearing.

Comey killed that. I'd bet there are a lot of Americans wishing there were more people like him in their government.

Well, there are apparently some reports circulating that Ryan and McConnell are implicated in the Russia scandal, so it behooves Ryan to try to defend Trump as long as he possibly can---if only to save his own job.
