Child has cancer?

Give them a bible.

If the Dems want to win the House and Senate back in the next election they must act aggressively and attached every Republican to the passage of this bill. They must attach every Republican to Trump and his policies. Because the second this passes, rates are going through the roof. If anyone bothered to look at what is considered "pre-existing" conditions you would be blown away what is included. Everything from GERD to Caesareans are reason for higher premiums. If you thought the American system was a bureaucratic mess before, its going to get worse. This is a disaster of epic proportions. But the uber rich got their individual (minimum) $200K tax cut.

of, course I would presume all the GOP who are indignant about the Democrats singing would never, ever do anything remotely similar right?!

I mean shame on the democrats for doing something like that in the house...

oh wait...

[Thursday's singing] is both an homage and a literal repetition of what Republicans did when the Clinton tax bill passed in the House in 1993. Same singing, same song. The bill paved the way for budget balancing over the course of the decade and (more arguably) played a role in creating the prosperity of that decade. It also came little more than a year before Democratic majorities in both houses were annihilated in the 1994 midterm.

http://talkingpointsmemo.com/edblog/hey-hey-goodbye

Biggest differences? the Clinton Tax Bill resulted in one of the most prosperous periods for the American economy since the post war boom... The GOP on the other hand, rammed through a bill taking away healthcare for millions of americans in order to fund tax cuts to the rich... Congratulations AHoles...

Good ol' GOP Hypocrisy Strikes Again...

What the GOP is doing is tantamount to an unannounced, bloodless civil war against the left, the poor, minority groups, LGBTs, and anyone not like them.

GOP, in reality: Guilty of taking away healthcare, restricting freedoms, allegedly colluding with Russia and rigging the election, engaging in dangerously racist, sexist, homophobic and bigoted rhetoric and policies

DEMS, according to conservatives: ARROGANT and RUDE and UNFUNNY!

Ok guys, it's all equal. You're right. Keep focused on the things that matter.

Don't worry, the poor will get trickle-down health care.

If anyone is under any illusion as to how bad the GOP Kleptocrats are determined to screw the rest of the country, here is the list. The bill is meant to screw everyone except the very rich. It reads like how we can "slowly eliminate the undesirables"...
  • Denial of coverage for pre-existing conditions are off the table and now insurers are able to charge whatever they want for those i.e. (100k for cancer, 25k for family history of cancer, etc)
  • Widely expanding definition of pre-existing conditions. They added rape, postpartum depression, Cesarean sections, and surviving domestic violence
  • Premiums and deductibles go up across the board
  • Employers are now able to buy crappy plans for employees with short lifetime limits to save costs
  • Medicaid is cut to the bone to the tune of almost $800 billion, which school boards used extensively for programs such as special education
  • House purposely pushed through the bill without reading it and before CBO had a chance to analyze how bad it was based on the changes. But it looks like it is the same of the last bill cutting a $trillion from the ACA while pushing back a couple of $billion back in new block grants. This makes it really a tax transfer from the poor+middle class to the wealthy
  • Bill was forced through without the text being made public and without public hearings on the legislation

There are members of the GOP going around saying that those with pre-existing conditions did not lead "good lives" as well. How morally bankrupted are these GOP politicians who say they represent "Christian" interests?

Quote:
The Republican health care bill, which Brooks supports, would once again allow insurance companies to charge sick customers higher premiums than healthy customers. This insurance practice, known as “underwriting,” is banned under the Affordable Care Act.
Brooks argued in an interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper that this should change. Here’s what he said about once again allowing insurers to charge people more when they have a preexisting condition:

It will allow insurance companies to require people who have higher health care costs to contribute more to the insurance pool that helps offset all these costs, thereby reducing the cost to those people who lead good lives. They’re healthy; they’ve done the things to keep their bodies healthy. And right now, those are the people who have done things the right way that are seeing their costs skyrocketing. Of course, this framing of preexisting conditions is absurd. There are some expensive health care conditions that can be traced back to lifestyle. We know that smoking, for example, is the top risk factor for lung cancer.

But there are plenty more expensive health care conditions that aren’t the result of any choice at all. Before the Affordable Care Act, as the Kaiser Family Foundation has documented, insurers would charge higher premiums — or deny coverage — to people with diseases like multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, and arthritis.

This is the irony... this bill hurts the GOP base a LOT... like Duffman's previous post:

At some point, the alarms bells with start going off in the GOP base...but will it be too late?

Note to the GOP Frogs, er, Base: the water is starting to boil, so you got one shot to lobbying and call your senators to kibosh this legislation...

I can't help thinking that trickle-down health-care consists of giving the poor IV-drips of urine collected from wealthy, properly-treated fellow-americans with similar symptoms.

And... that house bill is already dead. Senate Republicans will be drafting their own bill, not amending and modifying the house bill.

http://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewir...re-repeal-bill

Which means whatever they come up with is going to be very different from what the house passed, and will need to go back to the house for approval (and will likely be in a form that freedom caucusers now feel that they can block, given political cover).

I felt that the choice to do this singing, taunting or not, was in poor taste considering the Democrats should be more concerned about the damage being done to the country versus being elected in 2018 or beyond. I would be more enthusiastic perhaps if it wasn't for the fact the Republicans are even in power right now and voters allowed this to happen.

Not a single Democrat voted for this bill... None.

Not sure exactly what the democrats were supposed to do when the GOP controls both Houses and the Presidency...?

Lecturing them on decorum is pretty funny considering the GOP did the same serenade to the Democrats 25 years ago...

IV Drips? I think they are eliminating the middle-man procedure and directly depositing urine on their heads from the original dispenser.
