They really need to change the criteria of the Hart from "most valuable to his team" to "most valuable".

I really wish this kid was not an Oiler, it ####ing sucks wanting nothing but bad things to happen to a tremendous young player.
I don't think anyone is arguing that he is a good player, I just think that Talbot is the reason they made the playoffs and are succeeding in the playoffs, not McDavid.

I think Talbot is Edmontons mvp, whereas McDavid is their poster child.

I think it's between McDavid and Bobrovsky. they were to me, way more valuable to their team than Crosby.
I think if he was healthy for the whole year, Malkin may have been the Pens MVP, and possibly won the art ross.

The nice part about this is that Edmonton is going to get totally hosed on his bonus cushion.
Is this really a thing (aside from the bogus hits and giveaway stats)? I'm not disagreeing, I'm actually wondering as I always thought the NHL did all the official scoring and even corrected scoring plays the next day to ensure accuracy. I would think gambling sites and daily fantasy hockey sites would be pretty quick to point out inaccurate stats and make a big deal of it.

I'll admit that I havent thoroughly checked into McDavid, but I recall doing it for Crosby in his early years and he was getting some 'generous' phantom assists.

The thing is...those bogus hits and giveaway stats? They're calculated by the same people.

Should be McDavid. Without Crosby, Pens still make playoffs.

Without Bob, CBJ is still a good team.

Without McDavid the Oilers are a lottery team. Admittedly, Talbot probably deserves it as well, but forwards always get the edge in Hart votes.

Come on guys we need to bury our feelings on this one and our hatred and disdain for Edmonton. If you pray to any gods pray that McDavid wins this, if you pray to the hockey gods then pray for McDavid. If you pray to the old gods, sacrifice for McDavid.

That Hart award has got to be worth about 2 million bucks a year.

We want him to win it

We want his manager to be able to sit across the desk from Chia with an arrogant smirk and one number on his mind.

Max salary max length.

Does he get a bonus for winning it? That would be nice.

I would imagine so. Any agent for a top player that doesn't include clauses for awards isn't doing his job.

He has already maxed his bonus's so it doesn't really matter.

I have had the discussion with Oiler fans (at least those that aren't idiots about the team). Some of them really believe that he will take a Discount to stay in Edmonton.

I think both the PA and his agent will be driving the salary up as high as possible.

I feel like McDavid is going to get max money up until he is a free agent and then leaves in free agency.

Oilers kind of have to win now or never. Or hope the Canadian dollar and the cap go up a lot.
