Definitely Wideman.

(but actually, I hope he draws in next game in place of Bart)

Losing his job would be overboard but when you act unprofessionally expect consequences. Hopefully "Mr Flame" issues an apology and the Flames accept and move on, also hope he remains hidden, no need for a witch hunt.
I doubt the Flames or Hamilton are thin skinned enough to demand an apology from this guy but whatever happens it can remain private as far as I'm concerned. Insulting someone is unprofessional. It's also rude. But it happens all the time - your posting history is ample evidence of that.

Never suggested the Flames demand an apology nor said it should be public. Once again your ability to twist/add words in hopes of an argument shine through. Sad.

If you don't like the way I post you have two options. One would be to put me on ignore, and the second is to report my posts. Following me around thread-to-thread is proving to be childish on your part. You pretend to be above it all, but you're not.

This is benign compared to some of the things my friends and work mates say when we talk about games!

Ironically, as others have mentioned, it is the Leafs/Blue Jays comment that will most likely get them in trouble haha

I actually think Garrett might get pulled because of that comment.

I mean it is someone with a family and who needs a job for their livelihood, the false outrage over someone being marginally offended is ridiculous.
If you were at work and people overheard you referring to a client (which is what the Flames are to Rogers), would you expect to keep your job? Probably not. Personally I am not outraged, or offended, nor do I really disagree with what was said. But if you are at work, you have to be professional and you are responsible for your actions. If he loses his job, that is on him.

When you are at work you have to maintain a certain level of professionalism, private conversation or not.

Also no one was eavesdropping and recording the conversation, this was broadcast on NHL Center Ice.

Such a non-event really, but hopefully the attention to it has allowed the team a little bit more breathing space to prepare and regroup.

So why does he say, "if you don't call out Hamilton, I will?" If he doesn't have a platform to do it from, what is he talking about? HFBoards? Ranting to strangers on the bus?

Sounds like a live stream out of my living room.

It's not slander if it's true, right?

This is quite the change in opinion from some posters on this forum regarding the most consistent Flames defenceman this season.

Kathryn Jean @msconduct
Most ironic is that Dougie Hamilton won the OHL & CHL scholastic player of the year. Averaged like 95% through his last 2yrs or something

There most definitely should be some type of reprimand for what was said.

1) This took place at the workplace - not sitting around in some guy's basement watching the game. This was at the workplace.
2) This was not questioning a person's competence or decision making on the job. This was a personal attack insinuating someone is dumb.

Do this in any company within earshot of an HR rep, and expect to be reprimanded. This is workplace harassment, really. If I had an employee that said this at work about another employee, I would be having a closed-door meeting with said employee, and I would be issuing a written reprimand that goes in his file, and I would also be encouraging this employee to personally apologize.

Just because "well, I thought the mic was off" isn't a valid excuse to me. "Mr Flames" is paid to work with the Flames, and stating that another employee is stupid and/or dumb is absolutely workplace harassment. How does Dougie feel? Sure, he will shrug it off and pretend it doesn't affect him, but who here enjoys being called dumb or stupid by a coworker? Wasn't a teammate, but this person is apparently working closely with the team and travels with them - works closely enough to apparently know Dougie on a personal level according to what he said.

Workplace harassment. Simple as that. Fired? No - unless this person already has reprimands on file for workplace performance/behaviors, I would not think this is deserving of being fired. A simple written reprimand that goes into the employee's file coupled with a personal apology should be all that is needed. I also concur with Mastadon that this shouldn't turn into a witch hunt so that the general public needs to know who it was. It got leaked to the public, and all 'we' need to know as fans (if we need to know anything at all) is that this was dealt with fairly.

I'm not an HR expert but for it to be workplace harassment wouldn't Hamilton have to be a RSN employee?

I understood it in the context of the conversation they were having. Like if you were discussing eating at Arby's with a friend and said "if you're not going to call out Arby's for serving sliced possum flank I will".
