Someone's going to get fired over that faux pas. I wouldn't be surprised to see whoever "Mr. Flame" is going to get quietly dismissed in the next couple of weeks.
Pretty amazing the Ducks are doing this with four defensemen playing in their first full playoff series ever.
maybe experience doesn't matter as much as most (definitely this management) think it does?
still can't get over how unlucky the bounces have been for the flames. just incredible. crossbar, 2 mask saves, goal called back. you'd think that those should even out to a goal. flames get an own goal off a skate instead. the first game had a gibson stick-knob save. gibson definitely outplayed elliott
it looks like once again ferland and bennett (who were 2 of our most noticeable players) got 11 minutes, the same as bouma and stajan. brouwer with 16+ mins, including some last minute empty nice time, where he failed to win a board battle to keep the puck in the zone. i do not understand this roster management at all. it wasn't even this bad during the season

Can people stop talking about 'the curse'. It's called 'You're the inferior team, and have been for a decade, and that's why you consistently lose'.
It's not a curse.
You're usually pretty even keel but man have you been laying it on thick. Give it a rest the Flames were a better team this game and were pretty even with the ducks in the first game. They're really not an inferior club to the ducks and the past few days your 'self' pity is just an eyesore
Seeing the highlights with a clearer, less rage filled brain this this morning, the Flames got completely screwed by the officials. That said, Elliott can't be spotting the Ducks two goals, Gibson outplayed him significantly.
I know it's time to move on but I can't handle the call on Dougie. It has to be one of the worst calls I have ever seen. With 5 minutes left in a tied playoff game, given the standard set, it's just a hard pill to take.
The second they called it I knew the Ducks would score... but the way they did. Ugh...
The Flames have been the better team both games but lost because of two crappy deflections in he first game and a heartbreaking one in the second. I've got a feeling we take both of our home games, lose the next game in Anaheim then win the next two to win in 7. This curse will be broken and it will be broken in glorious fashion. Our team is too good to limp out of the playoffs.

Heartbreaking loss as the Flames definitely played well enough to earn thebaplit and maybe even be up 2-0. That is one of the few reasons I still have hope they can come back. They need to protect home ice and get back to the Pond 2-2
Just got finished reading this thread. Yikes. Hope some people cool off a bit after some sleep. The Flames could have won the first game, should have won last night. They still need to win one game in Anaheim, nothing's changed. I still think they're winning this series. Looking forward to Game 3.
And I wonder if we should just put in generic titles for the PGT from now on instead of some over the top, emotional headlines.
+1 on generic titles for PGT

I think it show's how the Flames future really does hedge on them turning the likes of Anderson, Kylington, Hickey, Fox and others into something more than just promise. Anaheim has good tough depth on defence in their system. Flames are still trying to get that established.
Lesson is...keep drafting defenceman.

So impressed by them. I think we outplayed them for 4 of 6 periods in this series. Unlucky to be down 2 zip. But I also think we have too many soft finesse players to beat Anaheim.
We should be destroying those young inexperienced dmen. Its pathetic how good we are making them look. On paper our d core is 10x better.
We are playing regular season hockey. We dont yet have a playoff gear. We play well but not with enough torque and power. Not direct and simple enough.
If anyone needs any comforting Oiler buddies who instead of expected ribbing think Flames could have have won both games or at worst split.
Selfishly they probably want to see B of A in 2nd Round or scared of Ducks but we got Oilers fans rooting for us and thinking we've deserved a better fate. Wasn't expecting that.
Let's tie this series up at home! It's not a series until home team loses!

Disagree we've been the better team in either game but could have been good enough to come home with a split. Elliott saved what could have been a blowout in game 1. Hope we can use last change to get some small advantage at home because I agree with other poster that we have too many soft players for the ducks. Love my team but this series shows we still have some changes to make.
