must show all Flames games nationally when they play on Saturdays, Mondays, and Wednesdays !!!
Pits D isn't strong enough to handle the fierce relentless forecheck of Columbus. Columbus also has an absolute beast in net and a strong D corps with depth. Pittsburgh dominates headlines so its an obvious consensus, but I think the hangover is real and CBJ is hungrier. CBJ in 6
Jackets defense had a 3rd pairing at around 8 minutes TOI last night. This meant that Jones, Werenski and Johnson were all around 26 minutes (Savard was around 21 minutes).
Penguins, on the other hand, had a defense all with similar TOI last night. The low was Cole at 18:21 and the high was Schultz at 20:07. This seems to me to be the best way to handle it. Spread out the minutes if you can so as not to wear down anyone too early.
Torts always rides his guys in the playoffs. To be honest I would be happy if the Flames bottom pairing was kept to 10 minutes in regulation. It's ride or die now and no use saving their legs for another day.

That's one way to look at it. The other way is the Penguins simply don't have any d-men comparable to Jones and Werenski. They were playing great (especially Werenski), so why not play them a lot?
I think the Jackets forecheck is going to take its toll on the small Penguins D. It's going to be a long series. In the newly-popular term - there are going to be a lot of "heavy shifts" in the Penguins zone.

Penguins fan was stabbed in the head with a screwdriver last night. He refused to go with paramedics to the hospital while the game was on. He told them he would go after the game and he did! Now that 's a diehard fan!
