I really don't think the Flames can beat Anaheim in a 7 game series. They simply don't match up well and will not be able to come close to matching them in a physical game and for whatever reason, their speed and skill game doesn't work against Anaheim.

The Flames have a solid team, but look below average against the Ducks for whatever reason.

Other than a few guys (Ferland, Engelland, Bennett and a couple others), the rest of the guys did not want anything to do with the rough stuff.

Asking this roster to play that kind of game is a classic square peg in a round hole ...

I am approaching the learned helplessness territory when it comes to the games at Honda center.

So it's pretty much guaranteed we're playing the Hawks or Ducks in Round 1.....

what's even the ####ing point? This team will be lucky if they get to game 5.

####ing fix the size issue or relocate out of the pacific division.

I can appreciate going after Gio but the rest was just garbage hockey by the Ducks. Biggest reason why I don't want to see the Ducks in the first round. I'd rather watch a series decided by skill than the crap that the Ducks call hockey!

Above said the Flames deserved a better fate as they were the better team for the first 40 minutes. Gibson was on his game and was the difference.

Looked to me like Hozler was going head hunting with his hit on Tkachuk.

Might as well resign ourselves that we're playing Chicago. Rest some bodies the next two games (maybe sending a message to the "coasters" while doing so). I believe that we can beat any team we face if everyone is contributing, the question is will they start doing so?

Exactly. That's why I don't spend a lot of time getting riled about it. It is what it is. I wouldn't trade places with either team as a fan. The future is bright for the Flames and this is part of the process.

I'm enjoying Flames hockey because we are in the mix with perennial contenders instead of watching from the outside. This is what I want as a fan.

Process, right?

Really? If anything this game proved the Ducks are far superior to the Flames physically. The Flames cant answer their size and toughness. Not saying they'd have no chance in other ways but in the physical department I don't think the Flames matchup well against them.

It was working great in the first.

Then they stopped playing their speed and skill game.

Hopefully Brouwer is playing in Vegas next year. Horrible pickup and waste of cash.

I don't care about lack of PPs. I'm talking about the way the refs managed the scrums and fights.

I think that's being negative to a majority of people lol.

Objectively, both teams have solid goaltending, solid defense, and good talent and depth. It could easily go either way. For obviously reasons we're the underdogs but have you not watched this team at their best? I believe in playoffs we will see a higher gear and more focus than tonight. I think we still stand a chance.

Next year even more so. Especially if Brower vanishes and becomes replaced or he becomes a better player.

Flames didn't show any killer instinct. 5 on 3 and most of the Duck's D in the box. Where is the urgency? Oh, maybe the Flames want to play the Ducks so they lost intentionally? That has to be it.

I hope Gulutzan uses this exact quote in the post game. I'm sure Burke would pay the fine for him
