They have lost 5 in the last 10 to be exact and if they don't go 2-1 on the west coast they will in fact go into the playoffs with a losing record over their last 10 games. Not ideal but I believe there were posts last week showing that going into the playoffs hot doesn't necessarily correlate to winning playoff series. However plenty of slumping teams going into the playoffs get dispatched relatively quickly as well. I'm personally more worried about how they are playing than their record going into the playoffs. They have started to deviate from the play that got themselves into playoff position as they have been turning the puck over like crazy and the offensive players are starting to cheat again.

Giant Flames flags are okay in my books.

Replace it with a confederate flag when the Flames aren't in the playoffs and you'll fit in with about 60% of rural Albertans age 16 to 25 who are still working on getting their GED and haven't made it to the part about the civil war yet.

Sport Chek on Stephen Ave moved all their Flames merch to the front of the store right when you walk in.

I think that counts as excitement around the city.

The Safeway in Glenmore Landing has a giant Flaming C made of red/black coke cartons. It's pretty cool and I'll try to get a photo of it next time I'm there.

well, i know i'm pumped for the playoffs

i stopped by a dollar store this morning and grabbed two packs of chocolate 'pucks' (100 pucks per bag)

i was kinda surprised there were no canucks ones in the 2 bags i got... maybe the word is out that they truly are no good! ha!

i got lots of western teams with at least 4 pucks each (for whoever calgary ends up playing) and was happy that i got enough of these - so they will soon be ready and waiting to get knocked over on my mantle....
