Well Tkachuk does all those things to perfection. He seriously has the highest IQ on this team. Everything he does, even his dump ins have a purpose and he thinks ahead of everything he does.

Thanks Dim Benning.
Flames vs Jets games must be the worst for Nucks fans seeing Tkachuk and Ehlers doing so well.

Terrific player and great trade.
Trade? Don't you mean free agent signing? I know that's what SN told me.

I actually think Wideman has decent hockey IQ, but his very poor foot speed forces him to make bad plays because he'll otherwise have the puck taken away from him. He's unable to skate the puck away and give himself and his teammates time to receive a pass.

Brian Elliott deserves all the credit. This one could have been over by the 10 minute mark

He's fine with the right partner. Wideman has to be the worst partner for him on this team.

Good to get out of that period with the lead.

Flames were sluggish but the Jets came out hungry and desperate (as they should have given their situation).

Forgot how dreadful game threads can be with everyone who makes a mistake being awful and terrible.

With all the games we've played and won lately we're going to see rough stretches from time to time, especially with teams fighting for their playoff lives. Good to see Elliot keep us in there and the power play click. Here's to hoping we can pop a few more in in the 2nd.

thought both Brodie and Bartkowski were horrible in the first. Adjusting to new partners after everything went so smoothly lately probably had something to do with that, but still ... better pick it up soon. Brodie misplaced A LOT of passes I thought.

What are the chances that Cherry mentions the Flames once?

How is Don Cherry still a thing? Who cares what players wear to the games. Let them wear track suits they are more comfortable.

It was a tail of two periods.

It was the worst of times, it was the best of times.

The Jets were all over them for the first 9 minutes, then the Flames legs got going and the Flames were clearly the better team.

Sometimes you just start slow and your legs are stiff and slow.

But a good road period from the Flames. Elliot did his job and held the Flames in, then the Flames took over and the Jets legs started to noodle.

Annnnnd I'm drunk.

Coaches Corner can't be bothered covering the games tonight. Would rather cover the McLoser/Crosby show from last night. Oh my good god!!! Give us a night off, for crying out loud.

Tough to back down?

Hamilton is an elite young D., regardless of who his partner is. Period!
