Tkachuk was in his face pretty good all night. Even got his stick up in Doughty's facial area for good measure. Man I love having a player like that on the Flames again.

Now that was a big win. Need a few more in the W column in the next while to ease some anxiety over the last 1/2 dozen games in the schedule. But setting up nicely to leave St Louis and LA behind to fight over the last wildcard spot. I still think LA makes it.

He gave the puck away needlessly multiple times tonight in his own end and we were damn lucky LA missed burying them. He was useless on the PP and struggles To even gain the zone because he continues to telegraph everything he is going to do.
I hope he turns it around and it was starting to look
Like he was, but tonight was very bad. He was completely lost in his own end. Hopefully it's only a blip on the radar in his return to prior seasons form.

No, not because I'm a fan, because your hyperbole is incredibly over the top.

Lead the team with 3 giveaways.
The game wasn't tight and 1-1 he wasn't that bad

Awesome game. Playoff atmosphere.
So proud the Flames fought back and let the karma take care of itself.
That's for the LA Queens, the refs and the NHL.

One thing strikes me about this team now - they have a wide repertoire.
Flames can play a really nice, offensive game with flair.
Flames can play stingy, smothering, mind-numbing defensive hockey now.
Flames can play a very tough, physical game in all areas of the ice.
This makes them more difficult to match-up against. I no longer dread the St. Louis game, or the Anaheim games, or the LA Kings games. At the same time, I don't dread the quick attacking teams either.
Elliott has dramatically increased his game. Where are the bad goals? He has been very consistent, and playing well behind a consistent defensive team. That is playoff series winning type of performances. Not 'stealing' games - just stingy, difficult to score against playoff type of defensive hockey.
This actually makes Treliving's job much harder. You make a trade - even if nobody is traded off the roster in exchange - but someone has to lose their spot. I haven't been a big fan of Brouwer this season (and I thought I would be a huge fan, though I do think he has had solid games but remained overlooked by many) but he has been fine for the most part lately. There really isn't a weak-link in the lineup. Versteeg may not be doing that well any longer, but he is adding skill and puck-moving ability. I guess you can upgrade, but boy is it difficult to mess with something that is working so nicely.
Longest win streak in the league, and tied for 2nd (with Washington and Minnesota) for best record in the last 10. Flames are heating up at the most critical time. You want your team going into the playoffs hot and confident - hopefully they continue this right up to the playoffs.
Oh, and LoL at the Edmonton fans. Seriously, the rebuilt for like 10 years, and were completely embarrassingly lousy in that entire span. They watched Calgary rebuild and then enter the playoffs and actually win a round in their 2nd year. They get gifted a generational talent and ride the crap out of a good goalie, and they actually have the gall to look down and snicker at the Flames when all they have done is accumulate more loser points than us? In a season where the Flames are riding a new coach and TWO new goalies?
That franchise is a laughing stock of the NHL. Just get a room and pat yourselves on the back for those glory years and STFU.

Imo, you don't move Versteeg at all. His and Brouwers time to shine is fast approaching, Brouwers just hitting his stride and will be dragging this team teeth first in the next week.
Versteeg is going to be the guy that gets you past the first round. We just need a small tweak at forward and the Flames are set.
I was thinking maybe they'd get a goalie but man I don't think you can tinker too hard with what is going on right now.
If treliving is going to pull the trigger tomorrow, those.moves are going to be clear upgrades.
He.may spend a bit as they did say no rentals but players they can controls.for a bit

I read one comment tonight from an Oilers fan who says the Oilers have pretty much clinched atleast second with tonight's win and that the Flames are now battling with Anaheim for third. And if the Flames do end up getting third it'll be an easy series win because of how the regular season series went. Ok buddy.

Awesome win against the Kings and the refs. Now firmly in the first wild card spot and only 2 back of the Ducks for 3rd. I am now firmly in the playoff optimism camp.

This is exactly the time to 'whine' about them. Far more effect than doing so when butt hurt after a loss.
And by 'whine' I mean draw attention to them.

There are only three teams in the West with more wins than the Flames.
