Rivals and contenders... that's how you get a bidding war going.

Why does Poile do this?

I cannot shake the feeling the Flames' main dance parnter this deadline is going to be Colorado. so many players can come out of it.

Hoping it is Landeskog, Duchene, or Iginla. No interest in Bourque or Mitchell

Would be trollish by Treliving with all the talk and speculation about Iginla, if the Flames traded for Rene Bourque

On the afternoon show Pat Steinberg says an acquisition he would like to see the Flames make is Tobias Reider out of Arizona. Haven't heard his name mentioned much.

Washington looks fearsome this year. Just stacked from top to bottom.

I contend Grigorenko would be a move akin to the Stone trade.

Makes me wonder how much Detroit is asking for Vanek
David Pagnotta @TheFourthPeriod
Sounds like Ottawa was also in pursuit of Vanek prior to acquiring Burrows. So, there's that. He remains the top rental forward available.

I would laugh for so long.
And by so long I mean the time it takes to load a clip into my gun and spray my brains all over the walls.

Flames trading for Bourque would be like some guy on a hot roll in Vegas getting a cooler to sit at his table!

We could get a slightly older Colborne.

The guy with a long history of not delivering in the playoffs for Montreal, Buffalo or Minnesota, as well as being a member of the first Red Wing team in a quarter century to miss the playoffs, is the top rental forward available.
