I find it hard to take a rumour seriously that says multiple teams are very interested in Wideman. Maybe one team is sort of interested and another team might consider being interested however.

Still looking to stir the pot and create a pile on session on a message board hey PF?
Edit: the mood around here changes when you block a lot of the A-holes..
I don't think that any regular poster here is block-worthy, though I haven't been here long enough to build up any year-long grudges. Maybe it's because I post too much on HF and anyone who isn't a braindead grease fan seems like someone worth listening to.
The mood here has been exceptionally hostile, let's get some positivity going for the playoffs!

If Wideman is gone and the penalty calls change it's seriously bs. I thought refs were supposed to call the game objectively, this isn't WWE guest referee mode.

Eventually a couple of expansion teams will be added which will nestle the Oilers into 16th.

Anything of value for Wideman would be a huge win. I really don't see why any team would want him. Unless a team is desperate for a tank commander I don't see Wideman being moved.
I simply can't believe there's a market for Wideman at all. The market for Stone, a relatively young defenseman, was a 3rd with salary retained. That tells me Wideman is worth just about nothing even with salary retained.
Not sure whether to ask here or the trade speculation thread so I'll drop this here. Suppose that this does end up being Wideman for Laich. I saw Brooks play live once this year and that was it. Not a good sample size to determine anything. Top those that saw him play more (last year I guess, or with the Marlies), could he handle 3rd line minutes on the Flames or is he officially done?
Since when does Leslie break rumors? Sounds like only guy that would peddle the team's lame false rumor to take some pressure off/pretend a market is developing.

When somebody is a healthy scratch because they are being traded it's because the trade is imminent. If we don't hear anything this morning then I guess he really does suck and played his way out of the lineup.

Sometimes trade talks are heating up around a player and so the player is scratched, and then the trade falls through.
You can't make a definite claim as to why he was scratched if he isn't traded this morning.

It could be Burke and his vigorous defense of Wideman that refs are angry with and Wideman could be traded and the refs may still be upset with the Calgary organization with how they handled the situation.
That is what I was thinking. One team is probably kicking the tire on Wideman, the other is Benning thinking our Wideman is the Ottawa one. Hence multiple teams.
I'd trade Wideman straight up for Wideman. May the best RH mediocre D-man win!
