Instead of all this Fleury and Bishop talk, the Flames should be targeting a guy like Juuse Saros.

The expansion draft gives the Flames a rare and unique opportunity to grab a potential young stud like Saros if the Preds are gonna protect Rinne. Other potential targets could be Korpisalo, Mrazek, Pickard, etc that are young guys with great potential but could be lost by their current teams in the expansion draft.

That makes way more sense than older, overpaid, average goalies like Fleury.

I wouldn't say he was garbage or overrated. He may be a much better fit for a different style of hockey and system and mayhaps playing on the right truly makes a massive difference for him. His off ice difficulties can't be discounted either.

You can't limit a team to zero scoring opportunities. Middle of the road teams need goalies to make a good save every now and again. Elliot has made zero this game. And what makes it worse is he never seems to admit he needs to be better.

I disagree, he made some good saves in the first period and was great against Vancouver (except for the one goal, obviously) and Philly.

You can't keep asking a goalie to bail you out when you give him zero run support or fold like a creased shirt as soon as he lets one in.

The Flames have desperately needed an all-star goaltender way too many times this season. We don't have it, but we have a guy who should be good enough. The team need to be better.

i guess i see it as bad hockey... giving up 4 goals in 10 minutes is an epic collapse...

if this 5-4 score was a result of teams trading goals, that would be an exciting game...a back and forth battle is different than what we are witnessing

In this case i just see the Flames as likely losing 2 extremely valuable points because they somehow snatched defeat from the jaws of victory...

You play much differently on the defensive side of the puck when you know your goalie can't stop a beach ball.
