Micheal Stone was like totally awesome when the Hitmen won it all in 2010. He like totally did it all.. Score. Hit. Defend. Lead. He like totally got the job done. Like totally.

Also why the hell does anyone want Bartkowski suited up for any non-AHL game? He's literally worse than Wideman, even factoring in the Effect.

I thought so as well. I think Wideman was actually the 'rock' on that pairing last game, and Bartkowski lost his defensive assignments a few too many times, and was weak on the puck. I was expecting Bartkowski to be worse than Wideman, however.
Still, it was one game with barely any practice time in, as well as getting used to the speed of the NHL again. I am sure he improves, but how much will be interesting to see.

I didn't say or agree that he did check out, someone else did. I just responded to flamenfame who said "he checked out after seeing another long losing season with the desert dogs"

I agree, and it's pretty frustrating to see how the Flames have been unable to draft and develop their big steady #3/4 defensive dman with their late 1st round or 2nd round picks for ages.
Ramholt, Pelech, Erixon, Sielloff, Wotherspoon... so many wasted picks. Somebody should hire Regehr as a director of scouting so that we can draft the clone of himself.

Bartowski-Stone is the 3rd pairing for morning skate.
Looks like Wideman will be healthy scratched.

I think from the NHL side they have to look to be protecting Vegas, but that doesn't mean common sense won't come into it.
Lets assume Stone looks good and the Flames are interested. So Stone and Versteeg are both players that in a normal year Calgary would extend before July 1st.
This year they don't because of the expansion draft.
If they say wait until after the draft and we can sign you for this much and this terms, then they've gone too far.
But I think it would come down to the player not wanting to sign because they'd be left unprotected and lose their control. Why would Stone or Versteeg take that risk? Similarly the Flames would balk at either agent asking for a non moment clause.
So you get a stalemate because of the expansion draft, but with both players knowing what's on the table but refusing to sign it.

Maybe watch them play before making assumptions?

No way. Wideman is as bad as it gets.
Bartkowski - Stone CAN do no wrong if it means Wideman sits.

Actually! Now thanks to the idiot epidemic the world is facing...they have changed the definition of "literally" to include the meaning of "figuratively" or "metaphorically" ... "I literally ate #### while running the 100m dash" now means both "I fell while running" and "I eat feces while running"
Thank you world...
Also Treliving is a wizard. People complain about who we added but I see it as not having to play Wideman which makes it 1000 times better...literally

I know, but my point was the league can be flaky in a lot of their decisions. They sort of shoot from the hip when it comes to a lot of things.
And this is a bit of unprecedented territory, so nobody, including myself, knows what they plan to do about teams signing players after the draft. All I know, is that the league is taking it seriously enough to warn GMs about it and issue a pretty severe consequence for a club. The last time they ever took away a 1st round pick, they didn't even issue a warning addressing cap circumvention. And teams were circumventing the cap way before the Kovy contract.
