Remember the rage when Staal broke Gaudreau's hand? Grip is exactly where it needs to be.

Pairings for the next game, maybe?

5 Giordano - 27 Hamilton
7 Brodie - 29 Engelland
3 Jokipakka - 44 Bartkowski

Bart is an excellent skater unlike Wideman. His problem last year was inconsistancy and him playong top 4 minutes. Put him on the bottom pairing and think we get his best. Anyone other than Wideman is an upgrade

Yeah, pretty ridiculous to minimize the play when we were out for staal's blood for a very similar slash.

It's pretty easy to stick up for a guy when the game is over and there is nothing to lose

I'm not much for conspiracies but it really does seem like the Flames receive the short end of the stick from the refs game in and game out.

That ejection on Chiasson was an absolute joke, one of the softest calls I've ever seen. He literally tapped Cousins, and the guy goes down like he's been shot in the gut. Honestly, give me a break. If you're going to hand out a 5 minute power play and put a team down a man for almost an entire game you better be damn sure it's warranted. Just sickening stuff.

The non-call on Frolik late in the game, while in the end a non-story, rattled me all the same. That's as obvious a hooking penalty as there is, right in front of the ref while the two players are completely isolated as the focus of the play. If the Flames get the power play they should have had, it pretty much ices the game as Philly isn't able to gain a man advantage by pulling the goalie. Best case for them it would have been back to 5v5 if they empty the net. Instead they go up a man with the goalie out and could have tied it in the last minute.

There are a number of further example that I could point out just from this game, not to mention all the absolute crap that gets continually pulled on Johnny that seems to go unnoticed time after time.

Pretty frustrating to have to endure as a paying fan.

Oh ya I agree. But Bartkowski was awful with the turnovers on Van, he needs to be paired with safer option. Him and Joki just wouldn't work in my eyes. I really hope he looks decent, less and less Wideman is just what this team needs. I hate picking on Wideman but he has been a disaster for this team the past 2 seasons while ruining our reputation amongst officials. I cannot wait till he's gone.

Dome crowd was more into this one. Tkachuk was the best forward along with Backlund tonight.
PK was strong but 5 on 5 the D was a nightmare in their own zone.
Brower had several meaningless shifts.
Elliott flat out stole this game.

Especially Claude Giroux sometimes he looks like the best player in the world then follows it up with looking like a scrub playing out his last game.
