None that I recall, but he did suggest we replace our 3rd line center Matt Stajan (uh huh) with Carl Soderberg for, I don't know, reasons.

i would think it means the opposite and that they want to keep Jokipakka but to wait till the off season and just give him a qualifying offer and not have to expose him, no? or is this not allowed?

Even if Jokipakka is an unsigned RFA for the expansion draft, Las Vegas can take him and give him a qualifying offer to retain his RFA rights. The Flames would still lose him. An unsigned RFA does really nothing for proteciton.
If the Flames had every intention to re-sign Jokipakka for next season, then there is no need to sign Bartkowski just for the expansion draft. The only exception might be that Jokipakka intends to take the Flames to arbitration and therefore the Flames wouldn't have a d-man that satisfies the expansion draft requirements.

A Tweet by Jonathan Willis:
Michael Stone's career is amazing.
2013-14: dragged down Yandle
2014-16: propped up by Ekman-Larsson
2016-17: seems to have killed Goligoski

Treliving tells us deadline approach is to upgrade now without hurting team long term. Not interested in trading top prospects. #Flames

Do we even really have any blue-chip prospects? Maybe Jankowski and Parsons?

Without sparking another debate about the meaning of blue-chip, no. A handful of guys who might pan out as NHL players and then a bunch of filler.

The quote said "top-prospects". It's pretty self explanatory what that means. How anyone read that and made the jump to "blue chip" is beyond me. No need to debate the merits of what that definition is. No one said it.

Well, Tkachuk was a prospect for a very short time before he became an NHLer, so I'd feel good about that, and Parsons looks pretty legit.

This is like trying to have your cake and eat it too. What team is going to give us those upgrades by taking on assets that do not benefit them long term?

Kind of a ridiculous comment about such a generic statement. You're reading way too much into it.

So then enlighten me on who you think our top prospecte are and why we shouldn't trade them for the right deal? Every team has guys like Kylington/Anderson/Gillies so I would have 0 problems trading any of those guys for a long term solution.
That's why I defined blue chip prospects. Those are the "top prospects" in my opinion who Treliving should try to hold onto. Even then, most fans of other teams in the league wouldn't even think much about acquiring Jankowski or Parsons... I would be happy if they proved me wrong but the Flames minor league/AHL prospects are not that good... some of them might pan out and that's why I think the Flames should give some a chance to see if they can surprise next year on the big club but there aren't many prospects imo who I would guarantee will/should become regulsr NHL players.
