One of my more favourite supporters of the 10th amendment has informed me that Soros is paying for these protesters and should be prosecuted. Does anyone know where we can get in on some of this sweet, sweet protester cash?

I wasn't really paying attention to the Johnson Amendment repeal thing, but if that happens then that'll make SuperPACs look sane; imagine a SuperPAC that didn't have to file any financial information at all!

Yeah I want some of that sweet, sweet protestor cash too.

Even if there is a tiny amount of truth to someone paying protestors, shouldn't the GOP be praising them as "job creators"?

Not that people should feel silenced or unable to express their opinion, but I really dislike any Canadian politicians publicly mocking/harshly criticizing this Administration, especially before anything even happens with Canadian/American relations.

This is a really tense and important time for our country with a vindictive, irrational, yet powerful president. This is a very important time for Canada to play nice, imo. No matter how silly it is to have to do so.

Let sleeping dogs lie, don't turn Trump's scornful eye our way so you can grab a bunch of likes on social media if you're in office in our country right now. Just dumb, dumb, dumb. Respectful criticism sure, but don't take SNL type shots, because SNL gets better ratings when they do it, we on the other hand are a country with people that only stand to lose from fractured relations.

Yeah, especially since the Sanders-type who want to re-invent the Democrats seem to be the most active voices right now.

Most likely the end result of that is more bitter Dem-voters staying home when they can't get their candidates through.

The U.S. military detected a missile test by North Korea and is assessing the launch, a U.S. defense official said on Saturday.

"We can confirm that we did detect a missile launch from North Korea," the official said, speaking on condition of anonymity. "We are assessing and will have more information soon."

The official provided no immediate information on the type of missile launched.

To an extent, I see what you're saying here. But I also know that in many of those close-call races, Republicans did not win by a lot of votes. If the GOP gets their way, if they roll back Medicare/Medicaid, if they cut back and privatize Social Security, if their rolling back of regulations result in another banking industry meltdown leaving soon-to-retire and already-retired people with destroyed retirement plans, if and when people lose their healthcare once the GOP destroys the ACA, people are going to remember voting R and might think otherwise.

These people were ticked off enough after Bush/Cheney and the Iraq and Afghanistan wars and the financial crisis to vote in a black man as President. Those narrow margins of victory can become narrow margins of defeat relatively easily.

That's the most hilarious part of this. On one hand they're ranting that these are paid protesters, meanwhile they're saying "Of course they can protest, they don't have jobs!" But...if they're paid protesters...I mean...

Wonderful. I'm sure Trump will take a calm, measured approach in response to this, right?

The only problem with Melissa McCarthy as Sean Spicer is she's going to get him fired so it's going to be a short bit.

Default Abraham Lincoln comments on Donald Trump

Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt.

He can compress the most words into the smallest ideas of any man I ever met.

Discourage litigation. Persuade your neighbors to compromise whenever you can. As a
peacemaker the lawyer has superior opportunity of being a good man. There will still be
business enough.

I am a firm believer in the people. If given the truth, they can be depended upon to meet
any national crises. The great point is to bring them the real facts.

I don't think much of a man who is not wiser than he was yesterday.

No man has a good enough memory to make a successful liar.

There is an important sense in which government is distinctive from administration.
One is perpetual, the other is temporary and changeable. A man may be loyal to his
government and yet oppose the particular principles and methods of administration.

You can fool some of the people all of the time, all of the people some of the time,
but you can not fool all of the people all of the time.

Trump vs. Kim Jong-Un in a dramtization would make amazing television or film.

The jokes would write themselves which is pretty depressing..

Last night we heard what we thought could be gun fire - sad but habitual assumption - and soon realized the sounds were from a fireworks display.

A YYYUUUUGGGE fireworks display to rival 4th of July!

Must be Trump, we all thought.

Nope, it was his pal Steve Schwarzman's 70th birthday party down the street from M-a-L.

Schwarzman is chair of Trump's economic development council or some such.

Have to say it was a beautiful show. Hmm wish they would have told us about it ; could have made some plans lol.

Tough being peons just south of the Land of Gold.

So we finally get to see Stephen Miller trying to do some PR for Trump. It appears he basically read everything he said off a teleprompter. He's also totally wooden and laconic, so at least credit to Kellyanne and Spicer for being a bit more lively while they lie.

I think going forward Trump will let Japan/China/Korea handle N.Korean things. Which would be smart. We'll see.

He's on Meet The Press now. Seems to be a more forceful and intelligent speaker than the other two. I think we'll be seeing much more of him.

I think we'll be seeing him until next Saturday night at 11:30PM EST, and then he gets to become a woman and that's probably it for seeing him. Also interview has already happened, these are repeats. And I'd hardly call someone reading off the teleprompter intelligent. At least Kellyanne and Spicer can lie on their feet.
