Man, if someone told us ten years ago that an American politics thread in 2017 would have posters legitimately typing out "See, this is why the Nazism comparisons are overblown" and actually having it fit the discussion, I'm pretty sure 100% of us would have been calling BS.
This is crazy.

A man who President Donald Trump has promoted as an authority on voter fraud was registered to vote in multiple states during the 2016 presidential election, the Associated Press has learned.
According to media reports, five Trump family members or top administration officials also were registered to vote in two states during the 2016 election — chief White House strategist Stephen Bannon; Press Secretary Sean Spicer; Treasury Secretary nominee Steven Mnuchin; Tiffany Trump, the president's youngest daughter; and Jared Kushner, Trump's son-in-law and a senior White House adviser.

This could set up a fascinating situation. But I suspect even President Bannon knows that firing her could be the thing that sets the stage for removal from office. But will POTUS-In-Name-Only Trump be able to keep his tantrum from spiraling out of control? We'll see.

Why hasn't a single person asked Trump if he understands the difference between being registered in more than one state and actually voting in more than one state. Obviously Trump/Spicer/et al are conflating registration inaccuracies (you know because the last thing I do right before I die or make a life changing move across the country is inform the Secretary General to update my voter registration) with voter fraud, you would think someone could ask a simple directed question...

Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump
The Democrats are delaying my cabinet picks for purely political reasons. They have nothing going but to obstruct. Now have an Obama A.G.
Nazi and Hitler comparison's used to be mocked as Godwin's Law. Now it's just discussing current politics in the USA.
I haven't seen anything from Israel about the lack off mention of Jews during the Holocaust.
For me, that is probably the most troubling, seriously off-kilter event of the last week.
Things like the immigration ban are appalling but I never really doubted he would actually do it. I had doubts whether it would actually happen, but I had no doubts he'd go for it.
Not mentioning Jews during a statement on the Holocaust is so specifically horrible, so unveiled and so tacitly supportive of holocaust denialism it really turned my stomach, and then made me incredibly fearful. Obviously the KKK is known for lynching blacks, but the palpable anti-semitism is disturbingly overt.
I am stunned by Israel's silence, but perhaps they are sufficiently placated by the US stance on moving the embassy to Jerusalem.
Ok so I'm gonna post the awful one first. But FOX News hasn't changed this at all, despite, you know, it being beyond false now. But I suspect Bannon has made it clear to not change it, since keeping up the illusion it was a Muslim helps the ban. Even by FOX standards this is pretty irresponsible.
And now the funny one. Somehow missed this since it happened a few days ago, but Sean Spicer is either very dumb, or he's got a huge ego too and doesn't actually read past the headlines to see that this...is the Onion. Tweet is actually still up somehow which I guess means it hasn't gotten back to him how much he's being mocked
I would cheerily throat punch the president and his cabinet and all of them right now. I've come >thisclose< to actual hatred today, especially after watching this. Can't embed it so you'll just have to click on the link.
Ever get the feeling that at any point during one of Trump’s weekly addresses Ashton Kutcher is going to jump out and tell us we’ve been “punked?” White House press secretary continued his tradition of making a complete and total ass out of himself Sunday when he retweeted a video he thought was praising him. Oh, yeah, and it was from The Onion.

The Quest stands upon the edge of a knife. Stray but a little, and it will fail, to the ruin of all. Yet hope remains while the Company is true. Go Flames Go!
