Seriously, as I just said, that article is terrifying. However, it is merely plausible (which is what's terrifying) and not by any means a certain description of events. It reads like a conspiracy theory with the caveat that it's not totally crazy to suggest the conspiracy might be happening.

That being said, reactions like your post are totally counterproductive. If you can't keep a level head, if that guy's writing frightens you to the point that anyone who's so much as playing devil's advocate on any issue becomes the enemy, you might be better off not reading it at all.

I think this commentary from you is really unfair. The basis for it clearly stems from poor reading of the post on your part.

The irony of course is that in this instance it is you who has been unable to keep a level head, appearing to let previous contentious arguments with Pepsi influence your reading comprehension of his post.

As someone that holds themselves on this board as an arbiter of reason and truth I think it behooves you to re-examine your reaction to this string of posts and to potentially rectify your statements which are quite obviously a result of a less than thorough attempt to understand his position in favour of a reactive response.

We all get lathered up from time to time, I know I do, but I feel as though you are clearly projecting internalised feelings/perspectives from previously heated discussions that we have witnessed in previous months between you two.

Man, I had a drag em out fight with my old man yesterday over coffee, he's onboard with the whole thing, loves the idea of leaving the Muslims in their own land.

I fired back with the whole permanent residence issue and seperating families, and he basically thinks that its ok to break a few eggs to save the chicken coup or something like that.

I mean I lean conservative, but man, that's crazy, I relearned a valuable lesson. Never debate politics with the elderly, especially if its my dad.

As I get older and older I get more and more frustrated with allowing anyone over the age of 75 to vote. They vote in large numbers, and anything they do is going to affect future generations long after they're gone. And my frustrated brain believes many of them would be happy to see policies implemented that harks back to the "good 'ol days".

I can at least consider the merit of the 'break a few eggs to save the chicken coup' (coop, and the misspelling is amusing considering..) argument IF there was an actual demonstrable threat that would be addressed by the actions that happen to break a few eggs.

But there isn't. It's like treating an itch with chemotherapy, there's no indication the itch is actually a problem or related to your cold and no indication chemo will cure the itch or the cold anyway.

Pepsi's original post quoted an alarming article, and said, in light of it, that anyone who could still - even in the interest of balance or avoiding an echo chamber - purport to say anything in defense of any of Trump's policies led him to have "questions". I don't think it was at all unfair of me to read that in the way I did, which was that he was saying there would have to be something wrong with you to fail to be entirely, unequivocally and without reservation opposed to everything that came out of the White House, no ifs, ands or buts. According to some people, objecting to that fairly hard-line stance is analogous to appeasing nazis, so I guess with respect to them, I'm not far off... but some people are irredeemable.

In Pepsi's case, he ultimately said that he meant was he had questions to ask them. Okay, seems like a weird way to have put it in the first place, but fine. I don't get to decide what Pepsi meant by his post. If that's his position, I don't have any problem with it. I left it alone, and responded to him on the rest of his post.

As for previous contentious arguments, sure, I have some basic, fundamental disagreements with Pepsifree's view of how society should work, and think he's totally off base on some important points. I think sometimes he's not really trying to understand the people who are disagreeing with him and occasionally he gets to be a bit over the top in condemning those people. But I don't think he's a bad guy, or deliberately dishonest, or malicious. A lot of the rhetoric gets turned up on a message board. I think if we were having a conversation over a beer it'd be pretty civil, honestly.

TLDR she allegedly takes bribes in the form of payment for speeches that never happened, and some of the details are in the FBI's hands as part of some of the e-mails leaked, among other shady tactics listed above.
